Return of True Blood: Season Four Is Here!

Any true True Blood fan already knows that the first episode of Season 4 aired Sunday night, June 26, 2011. Not that we were counting down or anything.

If you are not already a True Blood fan, well, then shame on you. However, this show is just so good that I'll forgive you and tell you everything you need to know.

The main premise of the show is that Japanese scientists have created a synthetic blood, called "True Blood," that allows vampires all over the world to forgo human blood and integrate with the rest of human society.

However, vampires aren't the only "different" ones out there. In Bon Temps, Louisiana, Sookie Stackhouse, played by Anna Paquin, can read minds. No big deal.

She's dating a 173-year-old vampire named Bill Compton, and works for Sam Merlotte, a shape-shifter who owns the local diner. They both love Sookie and (barely) tolerate each other.

Sookie's brother, Jason, is at times not the brightest, but he's often shirtless, sometimes single, and has a good heart. He's also dating a blonde were-panther named Crystal.

Tara is Sookie's best friend. Right now she's dating(ish) Sam. Her cousin Lafayette is an ex-blood dealer and chef at Sam's diner.

Eric Northman is the local vampire sheriff with serious yum appeal (swoon) and a thing for Sookie. He and Bill also hate each other (surprise.)

Eric's hench(wo)man Pam, has a heart of ice and a bod we'd all kill for.

Jessica is a newly-made red-headed vampire with a penchant for trouble, and she's in love with Hoyt.

Alcide is the yummiest were-wolf of all time, and he's also got a thing for Sookie (again, surprise).

Throw in some bad guys, witches, fairies, and fangs, and you've pretty much got the basic plot of the story.

Based on the books by Charlaine Harris, this incredibly addicting show is an awesome combination of delicious abs, hot girls, awesome fight scenes, romantic love stories, and plot lines that will curl your blood (literally).

Best Dressed at the Emmys!

Being the fashionista that I am, I am not opposed to the fact that award shows are not actually about who wins the awards but about the wonderful clothes the nominees are wearing!

So who's outfits were your favorites at the Emmys this year?

My personal and completely biased opinion was that Anna Paquin's Alexander McQueen gown was pure genius. Paquin stole the show completely. Not only did she honor the late designer, but chose something that represented her as a super sophisticated and strong woman.

As a die hard True Blood fan, I love everything that has do to with it (no matter how cheesy) I also enjoyed her choice of black...where the rest of the women chose soft feminine colors. I'm curious however if you think it hints towards her love for the dark vampire side?

Above, the ravishing and curvacious Christina Hendricks from Mad Men is wearing Zac Posen, with a Leiber clutch. Next to her Kyra Sedgwick in Monique Lhuillier, with a VBH clutch brings berry inspired colors out into the open for fall.

Here Emily Deschanel, in a tiered grape colored Max Azria Atelier gown topped off with Neil Lane jewels looks sweet while still commanding attention. Next to her, above, is the petite Nina Dobrev in a sparkling champagne one shoulder dress by Zuhair Murad that she paired with Brian Atwood shoes and Chopard jewels.

VAMPIRES AND TRUE BLOOD!!!!

I am finally coming out and admitting that I am a HUGE fan of the television show True Blood. I had not grasped the "cool factor" of the vampire trend until I started watching this show. Now however, I have become enthralled with vampires and True Blood.

In this show, the charming Anna Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse who is, among other things, a true Southern belle. Sookie is a barmaid at a local restaurant (who happens to be able to read minds) and she falls in love with Vampire Bill when he stops into the restaurant for some "True Blood" (synthetic vampire blood).

Soon enough, the darling and naive Sookie finds herself smack dab in the middle of a human vs. vampire war. Sookie finds herself in a difficult position as a mortal in a war of immortals! However, Sookie manages to stay alive through the second season without becoming a vampire.

I recommend this show for anyone who likes a little bit of action (fighting), a little bit of drama, and of course vampires!! Season three of True Blood premiers June 13th, so remember to watch out for it or for vampires on the loose!

Sookie is not only pretty but she also wears the cutest floral dresses I've yet to see. Here she sits with Bill at a vampire bar in a red and pink floral halter dress. Sookie doesn't seem to mind that she is the only one that hangs out with vampires that doesn't wear all black!

For a Sookie Stackhouse look, I'd go for any of our floral sun dresses. The Earth First in Mauve and Black as well as the Prarie Companion Dress would be great choices for a genuine Sookie look!
