We are back for another Blogger Spotlight! This week I wanted to highlight the beautiful Coury of Fancy Treehouse! Coury is an expert at creating soft and girly vintage looks! Based out of LA, this California girl is always looking perfect in pastels and nudes, some of her favorite shades. Whenever I need a bit of colorful inspiration, I head straight to Coury's page for a dose of cheerful fashion fun! Take a look at some of my favorites below!

Perfect 60's style jacket tops off a jodhpur pant and desert boots!

Taking one of our best selling dresses, the Whole Lot of Citron Going On, in an unexpected direction, Coury paired the bright dress with a rad striped tee!

I love the bright fuschia clutch with the vintage camel-colored skirt! Coury always inpires me to mix unexpected colors together!

Awesome summer combination of a green printed skirt and a lemon yellow top!

This picture reminds me of something a young Brigitte Bardot would wear! I love the exaggerated collar of the top and the pale blue skirt!

Perfect ethnic print clutch gives the light-colored outfit a pop of color!

Always the accessory freak, this photo obviously made the cut! I love the natural braided look of the bracelets paired with the glam clutch and rhinestone accents!
Have you checked out Cory's blog before? Make sure to head over to Fancy Treehouse and say hello! You will be endlessly inspired by her amazing ensembles!

It's time for a new lookbook!
Our Free Spirit lookbook was inspired by the Californian lifestyle of a fashionably chic chick.
This girl zooms about town on a moped and has picnics with her musical boyfriend!
A little bit fantasy and a little bit reality, this lookbook was put together for those days when you want to be girly but keep it real at the same time.
This is a relaxed style for a fabulous girl... have fun and keep updated for more....!

Our lovely Lulus.com ladies Torrey, Shandi and Michelle (who are in charge of this event) are so excited they can hardly wait 'til Saturday to hang the banner!!!

Hello LuLu Lovers!
This year, the fashion at Coachella was all over the map, as always. You see, desert chic can go oh so many ways.
Right off the bat, I noticed that there was a heavy 60's/70's vintage influence. Lots of psychedelic prints and muted colors, vintage denim shorts and white linen shirts tied around the waist. If I could have piled all the leather strappy sandals together I think we could have reached the moon.
As for accessories, vintage metals, long dangly earrings, LOTS of feathers, and of course the infamous head band -- although that trend is phasing out compared to years past!

As for the festival ... Saturday morning, I woke up and said to myself, "Are we really going back again?" Friday was cool but just so overwhelming. I think it took me 3 hours just to get used to being around 60,000 people!

Friday's highlight was, surprisingly, Jay-Z (even Beyonce stopped by for a duet), but I also caught Yeasayer (who had one of my favorite albums this year), Them Crooked Ventures, Grizzly Bear, LCD Soudsystem, Imogen Heap, Vampire Weekend and Fever Ray.

Luckily, Saturday was much more enjoyable than Friday, due to the better line-up, in my opinion. We first made a stop at the Anthem Magazine party for some amazing views, good music and a delicious lunch. Even scored some new flip flops and bathing suits from DC!
Next it was off to day 2 of the festival. Muse was today's big hit, but I was equally excited to catch the interweb sensation Die Antwoord as well as Z-trip, Gossip, Hot Chip and Major Lazer. By the end of the night, my feet were getting ready to detach themselves and head on home without me ... but fashion is painful, right? (Especially when you have a new pair of Tory Burch sandals that you didn't break in yet.)

Day 3, we took a much-needed break laying by the pool before heading back to the fields. On today's list was Spoon, Florence and the Machine, Glitch Mob, Phoenix, Miike Snow and Gorillaz.

Now it's back to reality, but looking back, it was quite an amazing 3 days of celebrating music! You kind of need a 3-day vacation afterward to just decompress from it all!
Till again!
xo

As you might or might not know, Lulus.com is located in Chico, California, and it is a huge warehouse full of gals wearing lots and lots of cute clothes in many different ways! I realized that we don't feature our own lovely ladies nearly often enough, so I am going to try and bring more pictures to you of our awesomely dressed employees.
We'll start off with Cara, who is indeed our stylist and has been on the blog a few times already for her hipster "Geek Chic" style.

Cara recently fractured her elbow in a bike accident and has had to wear a sling for the past month or so! Instead of letting it bring her down Cara played up the tough look with her sling and just the right layering!
You can get this look (without breaking your elbow please!) with these items:
The Novel Idea Specs, the If Wishes Were Horses Tee, the Circle Quay Vest, the Levi's 632 High Rise Skinny Jean in North, and the Wanted Prague Gray Girly Construction Boot in Vegan Leather!!!

And now I am here to introduce Olivia. Olivia is one of our beautiful, charming, and oh soooooo sweet models! If we were to give a Miss Congeniality award it would most definitely go to this LuLu*s lady!
I had a moment earlier today to see what Olivia's life was like outside of working at Lulus.com:
Olivia is originally from San Francisco (my favorite city in the U.S) and she moved to Chico to attend Chico State University. At Chico State she is studying English Literature. Olivia's favorite food is Thai food because she is an avid vegetarian.
On her free time Olivia can be found breaking hearts around town with her best friend, Kyndrah (below is a pic of them together), who is also one of our models and who we featured on the blog a little while ago.

And here are a few pictures of Olivia modeling at a fashion show that I thought were especially pretty!

Lady Gaga nailed the robotic look in her Bad Romance video, with the help of Alexander McQueen of course, but now lets take a look at what the Black Eyed Peas attempted with the same style.
In their Imma Be Rockin That Body music video Fergie sports super futuristic cyber costumes that don't quite cut it in my book. I personally think they look a little too contrived. However, I do kind of like the way the video is a made like a feature film, and I particularly enjoy the gigantic robots landing outside in the L.A. desert and attacking them.
My sister, who considers herself an expert at all things Gaga and robotic, said this about the video above:
"I've noticed a few things:
ONE: Lady Gaga's animatronic style is more than infectious.
TWO: I can't stand the way the Black Eyed Peas have turned the Gaga/McQueen influenced outfits into cheaper versions. I'll take Lady Gaga any day over their new video Imma Be Rockin That Body."
What do you think?

The tasty little confections know as conversation hearts are a Valentine's Day staple, but as I had to remind my boyfriend yesterday, are not adequate as a gift for your loved ones... unless Rosanna Yau gets a hold of them.
Rosanna is a crazy cool cat. But all alternation aside (ha!) she has updated the Conversation Hearts into the tech age.
I was lucky enough to go to undergrad with Rosanna at UC Davis, majoring in Design. She is now finishing up her grad school work at CCA, where she made this little project for class.
Watching the video below will better explain the process, but in short her special made chocolate conversation hearts will activate a program Rosanna wrote to play quirky loved themed videos when held up to your laptop camera for all to see. This is about a zillion times cooler than "Be Mine" on sugar chalk.
Take a look at the cool hearts! Good work Rosanna!

Kristin Knauff Reports from L.A.:
PAPER MAGAZINE & CONVERSE KICK-OFF WE L.A. (LOVE ART) – JANUARY 22-23 AT THE MONTALBAN THEATER

Kristen Knauff just sent us exclusive pictures from a pretty sweet sounding Paper Magazine event in Los Angeles. Paper Magazine is one of my personal favorite publications (ever since I got stuck in their elevator as an art student in NYC) and they seem to be throwing some of the coolest parties this year.
This event was a three-part series focused on bringing together emerging artists, art, musicians and students in an interactive experience. The WE LOVE ART party was catered towards making ongoing and interactive art installations focused on audience participation. A large studio was open for high school and college-aged students to get creative who attended the event.
Live music performances during this experiences included: Samuel Stewart, son of Eurythmic’s Dave Stewart and Bananarama’s Siobhan Fahey, and the CobraSnake, celebrated local DJ and event photographer. DJ Ana Calderon from the indie label Dim Mak set the mood. Popular DJs Skeet Skeet and TOKiMONSTA will be spinning and live performances by headliners Best Coast, and Dum Dum Girls kept people movin!
Girls were wearing their brights out to this event! Layered lace and lots of neon were a big fashion must-have for this party.

Artists in attendance included Karen Kimmel, Confetti System, Damion Silver, Scott Patt, Darren Romanelli, Telefantasy Studios... and many more...

One of the exhibitions was Karen Kimmel’s “Art of Exchange” stencil workshop; an ongoing series that encourages people of all ages to make their own creative mark. A dance class was taught by Ryan Heffington called Sweaty Sunday's and included artists, photographers, fashion designers, and screenwriters wearing their best Lycra and bright pastel outfits for a dance-off to indie rock, techno, and 1980s new wave hits. Ryan Heffington is a choreographer, performance artist, and designer.

Featured throughout the course of the two days will be a series of 24 short films, created by Converse, that shine a light on unknown artists from around the globe. Sharing a common thread of passion for their work, the films show the artists at work, conveying personal stories that show their creative process and inspiration. Each film ends with a call to action that challenges the user to find their path to creativity.
