  • Site to See: How it Should Have Ended

Got some free time on your hands? Then start watching the hilarious video below and you will waste hours clicking through the rest of their site; though I do like to think that time spent laughing hysterically is never wasted.

Not just hilarious, I also kind of find myself wishing that's how it really had happened. Poor Snape :(

Now, if Harry Potter isn't your cup of tea, there are loads more videos to choose from at How It Should Have Ended. A few highlights: District 9, Twilight, and The Wizard of Oz alone make it worth the visit.

I wish I could tell you more about it, but I'm running out of creative ways to say, "this is awesome." So I guess I'll just let you watch in peace. Enjoy!

Which is your favorite? Or favorites? I'm not one to discriminate.
  • Must-See Movie: Bridesmaids

If you haven't seen Bridesmaids yet, you're missing out. But, now's your chance!

I'll admit, when I first heard about it, I was thinking cheesy chick flick...maybe some Kate Hudson or Cameron Diaz in there...falling all over themselves to get the guy...you know, the usual. Now, I mean no disrespect to the time-honored genre, but the first person to express any interest in Bridesmaids to me was a guy, so I was a little surprised that a man would be so excited for a movie about a bunch of girls in pretty dresses.

Oh how very mistaken I had been...Now, it is a comedy, and there is a little romance (it is about a wedding, for Pete's sake) but this is much more Knocked Up than Bride Wars. And let me tell you, it is easily one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Yes, ever. But you don't have to take my word for it, any comedy that can manage to score 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, is no joke (that sure beats The Hangover's 79%, I'm just sayin'....).
If you haven't heard of it yet, here's a taste:

Written by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo (who also makes an appearance in the movie as "nervous woman on plane") and produced by comedy kingpin Judd Apatow (if you've seen a funny movie in the last decade, there's a pretty good chance he had something to do with it), it's no wonder Bridesmaids had me laughing out loud for two whole hours. But what really makes this movie remarkable is the cast.

This hilarious ensemble of ladies, headed by the adorable comedy powerhouse, Kristen Wiig, will have you laughing so hard that you almost fail to notice that...they're all women! I can't say I remember any other comedy this raunchy and hysterical that is headed by a cast of funny ladies, and it isn't just "for girls." Again, this is not a chick flick; men and women alike are rolling in the aisles over this gem. Finally, the ladies have broken into the boys club and proven that down and dirty comedy is not just for the guys anymore.

    In an interview with
IMDB, Kriten Wiig was excited to introduce audiences to these "funny ladies that you maybe either haven't seen before or have only seen little bits and pieces of." It's true. It took me about half of the movie before I realized that Rose Byrne played Jackie Q in Get Him to the Greek.

The other ladies? Melissa McCarthy (Gilmore Girls, anyone?) steals the show as the groom's gruff sister. Interesting fact: "Air Marshall Jon" is actually her husband in real life! You may recognize Wendi McLendon-Covey from her role as Deputy Clementine Johnson on Reno 911, and of course there's adorable Ellie Kemper from The Office.

And, of course, we know Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph from Saturday Night Live, among other things. These two ladies have such chemistry as best friends since childhood, I'm sure they must be best friends in real life, too.

Just listen to what good ol' Rotten Tomatoes had to say about it: "A marriage of genuine characters, gross out gags, and pathos, Bridesmaids is a female-driven comedy that refuses to be boxed in as Kristen Wiig emerges as a real star." So let's hear it for the ladies! If you haven't seen it yet, go see what these girls can do! And if you have, how much did you love it??
  • Amy Sedaris: Simple Times

Perhaps you've heard of the mad comedian/crafter Amy Sedaris?

Most famous for her role on Comedy Central's, "Strangers with Candy", Sedaris has brought an edgy yet mysteriously lighthearted air to her craft.

What exactly is her her craft, you might ask?

Well, beyond being a a leading funny girl, Sedaris has begun authoring beautifully spoofy books filled with tacky retro-style pictures. Her newest follow-up to "I Like You" has just been released in time for Xmas!

"Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People" features page after page of almost sickening technicolor photos with Amy pulling out all the stops in crafting ridiculousness. Besides the many project ideas, you will learn to, "create your own craft room and avoid the most common crafting accidents (sawdust fires, feather asphyxia, pine cone lodged in throat)".

    Wow!

Perhaps Amy will teach us to make this fabulous garb!

    Or this handy typewriter!

While Amy may not fit into everyone's craft basket, she carries such an innocent, wholesome way of making fun, you can't help but feel that this nutty crafter has stitched herself a heart of gold!

Are there any other craft/Sedaris fans out there?
