  • Lady Gaga Costumes by Giorgio Armani

We love Lady Gaga not just for her music, but for her super crazy, yet amazing costumes! However, it is Giorgio Armani we must give props to for executing her lavish vision for the stage. Giorgio Armani, who has worked with Gaga for her Monster Ball Tour in 2010, is working with the pop star again for her Born This Way Ball Tour and there are fantastic sketches to get us little monsters excited.

The designer is reportedly creating spiky PVC pieces with black crystals and mirrored metal. There’s even a keyboard-shaped headpiece! Say what?!

To get us even more excited for her tour, let’s take a look back at Lady Gaga’s many incredible costumes from her Monster Ball Tour!

Yeah, pretty sure the Born This Way Tour is going to be epic.

Are any of you readers excited for the tour? Show us your Lady Gaga love in the comments!

  • Site to See: Nicola Formichetti's Tumblr

I know you all have heard of Nicola Formichetti . . . right?! I mean being a top designer for Mugler, and Lady Gaga's right-hand-man is no small feat, but with how active this man is on tumblr, instagram and facebook, we're all practically BFF's!

Just to catch you up, I've posted some awesome Nicola eye-candy, but with a collection of high-powered gifs, tons of behind-the-scenes photos and the current nicopanda challenge, you've got to check out this guy's tumblr. So cool!

  • Lady Gaga: A Look Back on 2011

With the New Year close at hand, I thought we'd take a look back on 2011 using one of the most common motifs to orbit the sun: the mug of Lady Gaga.

From Vogue to Vanity Fair, Bazaar to Visionaire, the honorable Lady Gaga managed to grace a whopping 36 magazine covers in 2011. With her shocking facial prosthetics and bold antics (like claiming they were real) there seemed to be no one we would have rather seen staring us down in the grocery aisle, or rolled up in our dimly lit mailboxes. But I ask you, do you think you saw all 36?

For the grand finale this 7 foot tall copy of Visionaire, with a limited print of 2500 copies, sums up the impact of Gaga-Mania; larger than life indeed.
  • Haus of Gaga: Who's Behind it All?

We all know that Lady Gaga is more than just a singer/songwriter; she's a performer. Plucking her favorite elements from the realms of dance, electronics, fashion, performance art, and the media, her over-the-top image has been built from her collaborations in all of these areas.

In 2008 Gaga put together a round table of artists and designers to weld together her ideas into everything that is Gaga today. This she calls her Haus of Gaga!

Who are they and what part do they play? Well let's see!

This gorgeous orb headpiece was designed by Nasir Mazhar, but was given to Gaga by her Fashion Director, Nicola Formichetti. Chief stylist, director (whatever you want to call him) Formichetti is the man who was integral in gettting pieces from big-time designers when Gaga was still on the incline.

Gaga's infamous Disco Stick has been re-created in several formats, and is a manifestation by haus member Matthew Williams. As well as one of Gaga's ex-lovers, Williams was the Creative Director for Haus of Gaga from it's beginnings in 2008 until 2010 (they call him Dada).

Laurieann Gibson is the gorgeous choreographer that's been stomping together moves for Lady Gaga since 2008. She currently serves as the Creative Director for the Haus of Gaga and even moved up to full-fledged Director for Gaga's newest video "Yoü and I". If you haven't seen the video yet, see it here!
  • Get Gorgeous with Michelle Phan

If you are interested in beauty and makeup and you haven't heard of Michelle Phan, well, you can thank me later. This YouTube beauty guru has been long been considered the authority on internet makeup tutorials. With a fantastic range that includes both conceptual and everyday makeup, her videos are respected and referred to regularly in the beauty community. Michelle is the first female YouTuber to reach over a million subscribers, and her video views exceed 361 million! Michelle recently joined the Lancome team and is currently making videos using their fantastic products.

Being on YouTube almost more than Facebook and being obsessed with all things beauty and makeup, I have following Ms. Phan for quite some time. Let me walk you through a few of my favorite videos, shown below.

Ahh, the Purple Disco Tutorial! Not only is this video fantastically edited and easy to follow, Michelle is one of those super talented artists who manages to make purple eyeshadow look somehow subtle and glam. This tutorial gives you step by step instructions on how to achieve a perfectly sparkly and sultry evening eye look. The main reason I love her syle is that Michelle always manages to make her makeup look effortless, regardless of the intensity of the colors. The look is never overdone and always celebrates her features.

Fast and fresh makeup in the morning is an instant confidence booster. Growing up pale and awkward, I quickly discovered that blush and mascara were my friend, and from that a love of cosmetics was born. It is all about enhancing your natural beauty and feeling great! Enjoy this tutorial shown above, which gives you fast tips on how to enhance your look in just 5 minutes! I love that Michelle always mentions the importance of defining your brows. Giving you an instant frame around your face, your eyebrows are one of the most important parts of your face.

Michelle definitely knows how to have some fun with makeup, as shown in the video above. Based on a look from Lady Gaga's video, Bad Romance, Michelle shows us how to achieve the wide eyed look made famous by the pop sensation. One of several Lady Gaga inspired videos, this tutorial is my favorite for the fun computer generated effects at the end. Receiving over 20 million views, this video is a web classic and has been referenced many times.

Make sure to check out Michelle's channel. Her sweet demeanor and expert skills will make you an instant fan, trust me!

  • Lady Gaga In i-D Magazine April 2011

Lady Gaga never ceases to create a buzz. Love her or hate her, you better get used to her because she isn't going anywhere. Featured in so many magazines, online articles, and more, Gaga seems to be everywhere we look. Take, for example, the new spread in i-D magazine for April 2011. Gaga is the cover girl with a small but totally memorable feature within. Inside "The Exhibitionist" issue, Gaga shows off her now famous facial and shoulder prostheses, multicolor hair, and dark, dramatic lips and eyes.

I love these images. To me, Gaga seems to be redefining the idea of beauty. With an extraterrestrial aesthetic and bizarre yet beautiful makeup and hair, these photographs draw you in, making you wonder what exactly you are looking at. For additional pictures check out the full spread at i-D Magazine's site.

What are your thoughts on Lady Gaga? Do you love it, or is it all too much for you?

  • 53rd Grammy Awards Bring Some Unexpected Wins

For any of you who watched (or heard about) last night's Grammy Awards, you'll know that it was full of unexpected surprises. While popular artists like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Eminem, and Lady Gaga had some pretty spectacular songs and performances this last year, it seems as though the public has been leaning a bit more toward independent, talent-driven groups.

Also known for their hit single, "I Need You Now," rising country band Lady Antebellum won an incredible five awards, including Best Country Song, Best Country Album, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. Not bad.

Beating out Justin Beiber, Florence and the Machine, Drake, and Mumford and Sons for Best New Artists, Esperanza Spalding made a strong stand for the resurgence of true talent and pure, raw music.

If any of you don't know who she is (I didn't either, don't worry!), take a listen below. What a voice! No wonder she won!

And finally, beating big names like Lady Gaga, Eminem, Katy Perry, Canadian rock band Arcade Fire won Album of the Year for their album "The Suburbs."

In case, you haven't hear of this seven-member band either, check out their video below.

So, what do you think? While I did love Rihanna and Enimen's fire-laden performance of "Love the Way You Lie" and Lady Gaga's egg-hatching antics, I must say it's refreshing to see some new names get credit.

Do you think 2011 will start saying goodbye to synthesizers and other digitally-enhanced songs, or will the underdogs continue to be the underdogs in a pop-laden society?

  • Lady Gaga's BORN THIS WAY Single Debut!

Lady Gaga, or otherwise known as Mother Monster, has officially released her new Single, "Born This Way" off her new album of the same name due out May 23rd.

Born This Way (Audio) from Lady Gaga on Vimeo.

Gaga has already picked up some critism for the track sounding too similar to Madonna's "Express Yourself."

Personally, I love the track, and the message it sends, even if it sounds like Maddona. Both songs have strong messages about being happy with who you are, no matter what, and I think that's what really counts. So don't be surprised if you hear me blasting the song on repeat for the next couple days.

Gaga will be preforming the single this Sunday at the 53rd Annual Grammy's. If you need the song immediately you can purchase the new track over at iTunes right now.

What do you ladies think of the new single? Love it or hate it?

  • The Photography of Annie Leibovitz

You've all seen the work of Annie Leibovitz, whether you knew it or not.

One of the most prolific and well-known photographers of our time, Leibovitz shoots regularly for Vogue, and has been working for Vanity Fair since 1980 creating only the most exciting and richly developed covers and spreads!

As a young woman in Berkeley in the 70's, Leibovitz signed on to work for the budding Rolling Stone magazine, and within three years graduated to chief photographer.

Going on tour with The Rolling Stones or to an interview with John Lennon to take pictures and cover shots was commonplace, and Leibovitz grew into a style all her own. See below an early picture of the infamous dancer, Mikhail Baryshnikov.

The most amazing thing about the work of Annie Leibovitz is that she has an uncanny talent for telling you something intimate about someone.

Beyond just a simple snapshot, Leibovitz would study her subjects for hours or days in order to get a shot that was honest and revealing.

Look at this perfect shot of Cate Blanchett on a bicycle. The lighting, the way her hair is blowing and the expression on her face all come together for that split second!

Part of an Alice in Wonderland shoot for Vogue.

Look at all of these Hollywood starlets in one room! It's no accident that we see a sort of backstage scene exposing the rolling Hollywood hills and perhaps, a window into a little part of these women's lives that we don't ever see.

Part of an amazing retrospective photo shoot of Johnny Depp for Vanity Fair, many of the pics taken by Leibovitz herself!
    Total eye candy!

An elaborate Vogue take on The Wizard of Oz featuring Keira Knightley, the Penn State Marching Band and artist Kara Walker!

. . . and who could forget this fantastic shoot with Lady Gaga and Lily Cole in a Hansel and Gretel-inspired scene.

  • Rally Up: Cute Girls on Scooters!

The New Year always gives that me that squirrely little feeling inside. Dreaming of sunnier days and rides through the open air. . . well, there's just nothing like it. Don't get me wrong, I love bicycles too, but there is something equally exhilarating about a small engine set on two wheels, and breezing down a country road at a top speed of 50 m.p.h.

With a motorized sense of delight, I just had to give props to all of the bad moto scooter girls out there with a collection of super cute photos. Honestly, I'm not sure which I admire more; the fashionable young ladies with their mad style. . . or their cherry scooters!

    Recognize this lovely mistress?

This ol' gal having a jaunt in the woods.

. . . and the lovely ladies of Hawaii!

C'mon scooter gals, let's hear some noise!
