  • Looks We ♥: The Arm Party!

If you've never heard the term "Arm Party" let us catch you up: an arm party is a wildly cool collection of friendship bracelets, bangles, watches, or anything else stacked up on the wrist. This is a really flavorful way to make a personal statement, and some of us girls got together to show off some different looks.

Check out these friendship bracelets, bangles, and cuffs, and start building your own arm party!
  • Looks We ♥: Luxe

Luxe. What, exactly, do I mean? I'm talking opulence, regality, excess, luxury. Gold, brocade, velvet, pearls, intricate embroidery, jewels; textures fit for a queen. Dolce & Gabbana got me started on this kick, then Balmain vied for my affection, and Valentino! Gorgeous! Now, I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it!

I mean, how gorgeous was Jessica Chastain at the Oscars in Alexander McQueen? The gold embroidery was to-die-for!

The thing is, I'm smitten, and here's why:

  • Looks We ♥: Citrus!

Something very unique happened this season.

Aside from the normal pastel color trends that appear every spring (which we love!) bold slices of citrus have made their own statement. Like a botanical illustrator, Stella McCartney has plied crisp prints of oranges, lemons and limes over stark white to set off the pure colors . . . but it doesn't stop there! You don't have to go photographic to enjoy the trend, simply pair highly saturated shades of yellow, orange, green, chartreuse or even pink for a refreshing look that will carry you well into summer!

  • Looks We ♥: Mint!

    It's time to meet Mint!

One of my absolute new favorite trends involves a certain pastel that has come out of the woodwork and made a brave appearance this winter/spring. Mint green or blue makes a lovely accent to neutrals (making it perfect for buying in separates) but because it's spring it's also the perfect time to rock the pastels. A lovely mint green dress will brighten up Easter, graduation or any of those "rain, rain go away" kind of days.

With some of the geeky/edgy hipster looks of the new millennium, we even see mint being paired with black leather and a rocker attitude.

    Matching mint socks!!!

And the mint green trend is NOT limited to just clothing. Check out some awesome beauty products that were "Mint" to be!

What do you think about Mint?

  • Looks We ♥: Pastels

There's no better time to revel in pastels than early spring. We seem to be standing amidst the emergence of colors like blush pink, peach, mint and icy blue as if they were falling from the trees, and I, for one, am hoping it lasts well into the year. Rest your eyes for a minute on this soft collection and think pastel!

  • Looks We ♥: Peplum Dresses

Peplums, flounces or basques, whichever way you call them, we are loving the flattering look of a simple peplum waistline. We give thanks to Christian Dior who added a little slice of fabric to his dresses in the forties and fifties (sparking this modern trend) though Christian himself may have been inspired by the ancient Greek Peplos, a style of dress that draped about the waistline creating the illusion of a separate top and bottom.

Moschino was ahead of the game with their fall 2011 looks, which would all make amazing holiday dresses.

Fresh looks in the fall 2012 shows included this gorgeous pink peplum dress by Jason Wu and a classic white piece by Cushnie et Ochs.

Blake Lively sporting a classic little black peplum dress.

Brighter look by Alexander McQueen and Vera Wang.

Have you had your eye on any peplum dresses?
  • Looks We ♥: Wide Brim Fedoras

The current fall obsession over here at Lulu's is the wide brim hat. Being as it's still summer time we are rockin' the floppy wide brim a la 1970s, but for winter- the fedora is coming back, bigger than ever. Our inspiration for this trend? Hailee Steinfeld in True Grit

Check out some more inspirational pics below of other ladies sporting the wide brim.

Want to rock this look yourself? Below we have a selection of banging hats that will help you own this style.

Are you going to jump on this trend with us? Or leave it on the shelf?

  • Looks We ♥: Red Pants

You saw them all over the Fall 2011 Fashion week's street style. You've seen them pop up on several blogs. You might even be wearing them right now. Red pants are my new favorite micro trend of the moment,  I absolutely cannot get enough.

The easiest way to wear this trend is to keep it simple and pair them with a white shirt and black accessories, like both Maddy of Maddinka (above) and Christina of Trop Rogue (below) did.

Choosing red pants is a fun way to spice up your wardrobe for the upcoming fall season. Take note of the way these ladies rock the look off and on the runway.
