  • Looks We ♥: Luxe

Luxe. What, exactly, do I mean? I'm talking opulence, regality, excess, luxury. Gold, brocade, velvet, pearls, intricate embroidery, jewels; textures fit for a queen. Dolce & Gabbana got me started on this kick, then Balmain vied for my affection, and Valentino! Gorgeous! Now, I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it!

I mean, how gorgeous was Jessica Chastain at the Oscars in Alexander McQueen? The gold embroidery was to-die-for!

The thing is, I'm smitten, and here's why:

  • Best of Pre-Fall 2012

Okay, so if you didn't know, we just finished the pre-fall season for 2012. Below I  highlighted my 10 favorite collections from the pre-fall season, in no particular order. You can agree with me or not, it's okay, it's what make the world turn, you know? You can always comment with your thoughts (wink wink, nudge nudge).

*So Chanel would totally make this list (it was one of my fav shows) but we already did a blog on it. So, don't freak out, k?
  • Louis Vuitton's (Wo)Man Made Menagerie

Pets in your purse: out. Pets made out of purses, wait.... what?!

Billie Achilleos, "versatile artist & maker of things" (as stated on her blog), was commissioned by Louis Vuitton to create these adorable little critters out of their designer purses, wallets, and accessories to celebrate the fashion house's 100 year anniversary. The collection, named Maroquinaris Zoologicae, is set to kick off a world tour this year, so be on the lookout for a flock of purse birds cruising by your window.

  • Trend to Try: Color Block Shoes!

Color blocking is taking it to the streets . . . literally.

If you're a shoe lover, then you've probably had your eye on some of the hottest new color combos out there. It seems that all the major fashion houses have reached for the spice rack, giving their fierce footwear bold dashes of brights, neutrals and, yes, glitter!

The gilded masterpieces below (aka: my biggest crush) are from Miu Miu, followed by savory designs from Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, Fendi and DKNY.

  • Louis Vuitton and His Carousel

This may be the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 line, but these cool subdued tones put me in the mind of a winter wonderland. I am in envy of the guests who were seated around a circular curtain which lifted to expose a stark white carousel with models seated atop the alabaster horses.

Laser cut dresses created the look of mammoth eyelet lace made exquisite by the presence of pastel umbrellas, vintage-style flowers and wispy feather details. The tinny soundtrack played the musings of Bjork and the grand finale was none other than the eminent Kate Moss.

Did you see those mirror-finish pumps? I'm in love!

  • Big Hair, Do You Love It?

    I love Big Hair.
It's dramatic, fun and it's all over the runways these days. Dior's Fall/Winter 2010 line features gorgeous Victorian inspired fashion worn on models outfitted with curled, teased and blown out do's. What could be more elegant and incredible all at once?

On the wilder side, Luis Vuitton featured outrageous oversized afro wigs on the runway last Fall. And although the style isn't exactly as street friendly as Dior, they are pretty unforgettable!

These girls are looking very festival-chic with their teased out tufts.

    What do you think?
Would you try any of these crazy do's?

  • Nautical Trend: Steal vs. Splurge

Lulus.com isn't the only one ready to set sail this summer. Louis Vuitton's Cruise 2010 Collection has everyone wanting to deck out their red and navy blue duds. Inspired by our new lookbook, I've decided to showcase one of our new looks with a splurge vs. steal blog.

Here we can see the gorgeous Diane Kruger sporting one of Louis Vuitton's looks from the cruise collection at an "Inglorious Bastards" premiere. This yellow dress brightens up the German actress and features classic gold sailor buttons.

Are you drooling as much as I am over this splurge?

Have no fear Lulus.com has come to treat your craving with our own yellow nautical dress. Inspired by our splurge, our Sunshine Schooner Dress features the same clean look with a bow-like top and sailor buttons. Get the luxury of the sea at a fraction of the cost.

  • New Year Hot Spot Style: Ginza

Not sure about the rest of you fashionistas out there, but right after, "What did you get for Christmas?" the question I'm getting is, "What are you doing for New Years?".

With only four days left, I still have no idea what I will be doing ... but I know what I would like to do! Barring money, travel, and time, here is the first of four awesome New Year's Eve destinations I would love to visit (and the outfits I would love to wear!)

Ginza is an upscale part of Tokyo with luxurious shopping and high fashion everywhere. The flagship stores of Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci are always lit up, creating one of the most beautiful city nights I have ever seen. Having been to both, I dare say Ginza is brighter, even, than Times Square.

Class would be the name of my game -- including a midnight toast at the Icebar Tokyo, a bar made entirely of, you guessed it, ice. Everything from walls, the bar, tables, and even glasses are made of ice. A jacket is provided in the Icebar Tokyo, but I would walk in wearing the Little Time Dress and Nekhbey Necklace in Gold [sold out!]. Simple, sophisticated, stylish ... kind of like Ginza itself.

But let's not be square bears -- a splash of color is needed!  Jeffrey Campbell Pacific Teal Leather Double Ruffle Heels it is!

Check back tomorrow for my next New Year's hotspot!

  • Teen Choice Awards 2009

If you caught the Teen Choice Awards Monday night, then you couldn't help but notice the variety of adorable outfits seen on some of our favorite Hollywood starlets.

Singer Miley Cyrus went sexy punk with her tiny mini skirt, layered chain necklaces, and various bangles and cuffs. Selena Gomez wore a one-shouldered lavender dress for a Greek goddess look. Gossip Girl Leighton Meester sported a cute black and white stripe Louis Vuitton dress but earned our vote with her ruby red platform pumps.

Hayden Panettiere was looking pretty in pink in a ruched, form fitting dress with matching heels. Vanessa Hudgens was looking as vibrant as ever in a plum purple pleated dress with a unique tassle belt at the waist.

This event, however, wasn't just for teens. We spotted a couple of all-star vixens out on the red carpet.

Britney Spears stood tall in in a sparkling black mini dress. Cameron Diaz proudly held up her teen choice award wearing a sophisticated grey dress with an edgy zipper at the top. Fergie was as colorful as ever in her Marc Jacobs dress, complimented by a head-turning silver cuff. Lastly, Kim Kardashian struck a pose in an angelic white Stella McCartney dress.

Did you catch the award show last night? Who wore your favorite look and why? We'd love to hear your feedback!
