  • Fit For a Queen: Kate Moss for Vogue

Runway goddess, Kate Moss, is featured in Vogue’s April issue, where she channels a modern day Marie Antoinette in beautiful couture gowns truly fit for a queen.

Photographed by Tim Walker and styled by Grace Coddington, Kate lounges around in the luxurious Ritz Paris Hotel, decked head-to-toe in Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Armani Prive, to name a few.

The famous hotel plays a perfect setting for Ms. Moss’ dramatic wear and is a last hurrah of sorts before it begins an extensive two-year renovation. (It hasn’t been renovated since the 1800s!) The photos are gorgeous and would not look out of place at the Palace of Versailles!

  • Très chic: Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012 Highlights

    Bonjour!

On the (high) heels of Milan, Paris Fashion Week has come to bring us fashion excellence on the runway—even in in the streets! So let's take a look at some of our favorite styles of the week!

    Balmain
Fabergé egg-style dominated the Balmain runway with embroidered patterns adorned with beautiful pearls and crystals. The pieces were intricate, but were so cool and casual!
    Christian Dior
Soft and ballet-esque silk tulle skirts made up the majority of Christian Dior’s collection. Paired with super high platforms, this show was filled with showstoppers!

    Jean Paul Gaultier
It was to the streets for Jean Paul Gaultier with cool graffiti adorned dresses and constructed trench coats. The model's roots were also dyed to match their graffiti style. It was street style chic at its finest!

    Lanvin
It was all about the waist at Lanvin with body-enhancing peplums and flared skirts in bright and beautiful colors. The jewel necklaces were stunning!

    Paris Street Style

Now that you've enjoyed what the runway has to offer, let's take some time to appreciate the gorgeous styles in Paris' oh-so-fashionable citizens!

These ladies should have their own runway built for them!

What were your favorite Parisian looks?

  • Lulu*s Read: My Life in France

I recently finished this adorable book and I just had to share it with all of you! This book, written by Julia herself, details her wonderful years living in France where she fell in love with the art of French Cuisine and therefore found what she was destined to do. The most amazing message of this book is that everyone can also share the same sheer love of cooking that Julia experienced herself! So buy the book, crack it open, and be prepared to get hungry.

This book is a love story in many ways. The first and most precious to Julia is the love story between herself and her husband Paul, who led her to this fabulous country. Paul supported all of her endeavors and encouraged her to pursue something she could develop a passion for. She did just that when she began to take cooking classes at the Cordon Bleu, where she really found her "true calling." There is also the amusing love story between Julia and cooking, a deep bond that becomes zealous and strong. Basically, if you are a sucker for love stories and have a passion for food, this book is made for you!

One of my favorite parts about this book are the black and white photographs that appear throughout. The pictures really give a sense of the new country and culture Julia plunges into and are so fun to look at!

Having never spoken a word a French, Julia immerses herself in an unfamiliar culture and thrives in her new environment. She is an inspiring individual that I can only hope I am like one day. I mean, who wouldn't want to fall in love and begin a new life in France?

For all of the other fellow Julia fans out there, be sure to check out her two volume set of cookbooks, Mastering the Art of French Cooking,  from which this story is based off.

What do you guys think of this fun summer read?
    xoxo

  • Ooh la lovin' these Parisian Bloggers!

    The Cherry Blossom Girl

Alix (above) created her gorgeous blog in 2007. Spending part of her time in Paris and part in Versailles, this talented designer has a wealth of gorgeous and inspiring photos, detailing her love of fashion, travel, beauty and Chanel! The shots above were taken at a 50's-style diner in Paris. Gotta love the burst of color, her red heels and that yummy sundae!! Check out The Cherry Blossom Girl for more fantastic and captivating posts!

    Alma Luna

I couldn't stop scrolling through post after post of Alma's amazing blog. A vibrant student in Paris, her posts detail a life of adventure and fun with fashion. Her outfits were seriously so inspiring, I'm now filled with ideas of how to revamp my wardrobe. The photo above was taken on the streets of Paris, and honestly couldn't look more chic.

    Le Blog de Big Beauty

Stylin' Stephanie of Le Blog de Big Beauty is a gem of a find. Actress, model and fashionista, Stephanie is redefining what is means to be a larger woman in French culture. She even offers courses for women on how to dress to flatter their curves. I love how she plays with color in her outfits, and I'd kill for her amazing shoe collection! • Model Off Duty: Frida Gustavsson

    Frida Gustavsson closeup photo

I want to introduce you to one of my favorite up-and-coming models: Frida Gustavsson. This 17-year-old, 5’11” Stockholm native is a self-proclaimed geek, but is a natural on both the runway and on film. In January, she walked for Valentino, Armani Privé, Elie Saab, Christian Dior, and Chanel in spring couture shows in Paris.

Frida is not only a force on the runway, but also off. Below are some example of her laid back, but chic, style.

  • Movie Review: Julie & Julia

A movie that cherishes a love of food doesn't come along all that often. Therefore, it's a good time to appreciate the delightful flick, Julie & Julia -- a movie that will not only have you raving, but your stomach growling.

While this movie is about food -- and I mean a lot of delicious food -- it is also about self discovery.

Based on two true stories, Julie Powell, played by Amy Adams, is a lowly cubicle worker who can only looked forward to depressing call after call in her frustrating job. The thing that makes her happy is cooking and knowing that she can come home night after night, follow a recipe and create something tasty.

Investing in her love of cuisine, Julie is inspired by her husband to write a blog about cooking, but not just any blog: a year-long cooking challenge to make every recipe in Julia Child's famous cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking.

This is where Julia Child's story comes in -- the Julia Child before she became famous. This Julia, played by Meryl Streep, was a bored housewife in Paris. In a desire to use her talent and excitement for learning, she signed up for a challenging French cooking class. Here, Julia discovered her talent in the kitchen, as did those around her, all while her ever-supporting and ever-adoring husband (played by Stanley Tucci) stood proudly by her side.

Julie and Julia's stories meet in an interesting way that you'll just have to see for yourself :)

Ultimately, this story is about finding happiness and joy in simple pleasures. It definitely made me want to slow down, eat a few less take-out meals, invite a few friends over and cook a fantastic meal.

    Mmmmm....what's for dinner?
