  • Retro Fox: Tuesday Weld

Born Susan Ker Weld in 1943, Tuesday Weld was one of the most unique screen sirens of her day. Modeling from a young age, Tuesday then moved on to act in such films as Once Upon a Time in America, Play It As It Lays, Thief, and Looking for Mr. Goodbar, with costars like Steve McQueen, Michael Douglas, and Robert De Niro.

Not only was she talented, but she was also incredibly gorgeous. Classic blonde curls, killer cheekbones, an engaging gap tooth, and a fantastic wardrobe combined to make one stunning little lady. Check her out!

So mod! I love both of these outfits, from the floral print dress to the cute clutch to the simple white dress with skinny belt. Both these looks are totally back in style now!

Stripes and cut-offs! I want to know how she makes it look so easy...le sigh...

    Hat? Check. Print pants? Check!

Orange tones are definitely this season's color. With a soft updo on the left and sultry glamor on the right, Tuesday is everything elegant and gorgeous.

  • Laurie's Loves: Seventies Sirens Storm Lulu*s

Hey guys, what do you think of the new styling on the Lulu*s website? Pretty adorable, huh?

Our awesome stylists have been working on some new tricks for pulling together some really adorable outfits, so you can see how our clothes might actually wear in real life. Of course, it helps to have the entire Lulu*s closet at our disposal, but I think it might give you a head start on the whole "what do I wear this morning?!?" dilemma.

I don't know if you're seeing a pattern here, but I'm seeing a whole lot of retro action going on with these outfits. The high-waisted shorts, wide leg pants, and floaty mini dress all have a distinctly seventies flavor.
Let's take a closer look at some of my favorite pieces from these ensembles:

I am recently obsessed with the Parlor Music Floral Dress. It's flirty, feminine, and utterly adorable. The great thing about it is that when you put it on, it's insta-cute. Because it's sheer, you get to wear a super comfy slip underneath, and then, ta-da! It looks adorable on its own, with a pair of leggings and boots, or even with a slouchy sweater and jeans.

We just got the Bow-nus Points Black Romper in yesterday, and I personally am loving it for this spring. Even though it's raining outside right now, this cute lil romper is still a great option for this time of year. Wear it with some black tights, a cozy cardigan, and knee high boots, and you're set! Then, of course, wear it with sandals in the spring and summer and you've got a totally transitional outfit.

And how about this adorable Mocha Sprinkles Polka Dot Crop Top. They've got it paired here with a long maxi skirt, but I think it would be so adorable with flare jeans or shorts, too. Add some chunky platforms and you're set!  And how lovely is the Savannah Sachet Blush Pink Jacket? We've got it paired here with high-waisted shorts and a button down, but it would be equally as cute with a pencil skirt or a cute floral dress. I'm also thinking it would be office-appropriate, too, with the tailored lapels and structured cut.

And of course, I can't go one blog without sharing some of my favorite accessories. There were quite a few adorable additions in these new stylings, so I picked out three of my favs: the Future's So Bright Sunglasses, the Melie Bianco Leah Beige Vegan Purse, and the Chelsea Crew Chelsea Crew Tolido Tan Fleece Lace Up High Heeled Boot. All of these items are super transitional and can be mixed and matched with many different outfits, especially if you stay within a fairly neutral palette as in the outfits above.

Ah sookie sookie! Can ya dig it?

  • Have a Very Vintage Fall

Keeping warm when the days get chilly doesn't mean skipping out on cute style. With the right pair of mittens, that perfect scarf, a chic little hat and a gorgeous coat, you'll be toasty warm and perfectly trendy, no baggy, hooded sweatshirts required.

I don't know if it's because the new season of Mad Men just started, but I'm really inspired by retro-styles from the 50's and 60's for this fall and winter. Here are a few of photos from My Vintage Vogue that really sparked my interest.

With flattering, double-breasted coats, cute furry contrasts (or faux fur), and an array of cozy accessories, these gals know how to show up Jack Frost in style!

If you're inspired by these looks, take a peek at some of my favorite, retro-style coats from Lulu*s! Featured below is the Sherlock Trench Coat, the Fonda Coat, the Lennon Coat, and the gorgeous Quinn Coat

  • Do It Yourself Beauty: Dita Von Teese

It's no secret that burlesque star Dita Von Teese is one of my favorite fashion and beauty icons.

From her gorgeous 1940's style wardrobe to her retro red lipstick, Dita's look is classic and always perfection.

But perhaps what I love most about her image is that it's completely self created.

In an age where Hollywood starlets are dressed by stylists and groomed by makeup artists, it's refreshing to see a knock out like Dita who has done all the work herself, even for a day of shopping (pictured left).

Born Heather Sweet, Dita was a natural blonde from Michigan, who, over the years, cultivated her image as a vampy, raven-locked beauty with a keen eye for vintage and glamour.

If you happen to see Dita at a press event or gala opening, you can bet she's curled her hair and applied her own lipstick just an hour before. I even love how she skips the salon and dies her own hair at home, posting on her Twitter page: "$8 box of black hair dye=new outlook on life today."

I find this idea of self-created glamour very inspiring. It's something that's accessible to your average gal, like me, and it doesn't take a fortune to achieve. I recommend watching the interview clip below where Dita talks more about her take on beauty and style.

P.S. Dita is to release her very own beauty book in the upcoming year, so stay tuned!!

  • Pretty in Polka Dots!

Retro, fun and a little bit quirky, ya gotta love a good polka dot print! Our newest Surprise Party Dress (pictured center front) arrived just in time for all those graduation parties I need to attend. Blue and white make an exceptionally good pair for this print, as seen on Zooey Deschanel (left) and Miranda Kerr (right).

I can't wait to style it with a messy chignon, bow hair clip and some red lipstick (but of course!).
