With a beautiful editorial featuring super saturated bright colors, Elle Denmark really hit a home run with their May 2011 issue featuring model Laura Blokhina and photographer Sigurd Grunberger. I love the contrast of the light wood-paneled wall behind the model. It really allows the saturated colors to shine and take center stage. Have a look for yourself and then check out my picks for how to achieve the look without having to sell and arm and a leg for that Marc Jacobs dress below!

Here at LuLu*s we are ready for spring to come our way! With frost on the windows and mugs of tea we are sitting cozy and dreaming of fresh-cut grass and light, airy clothing. I have put together some spring, pastel inspiration to get us through these chilly mornings and to ring in the New Year with the optimism of a budding flower!

Cut-offs, lace, balloons and flowing hair? Yes, please! That sounds like a dreamy spring afternoon.

What are you planning on wearing this spring?

Denim is like the comfort food of clothing. Rare is the girl without a pair of blue jeans in her closet, and no matter what sundress I wear, my blue denim crop jacket always seems like the perfect companion.
But denim on denim was a place I dared not venture. That is, until I saw the trend step stylishly on the Spring 2010 runway.
One trick to pulling off the trend is to mix up the washes and textures. Pair a distressed jean with a crisp jacket or a light, chambray top with dark blue skinnies.
I love the two looks pictured above from Ralph Lauren and D&G. For even more inspiration, check out the street stylin' bloggers below found on Lookbook.nu!

How would you sport the trend?

Spring has finally arrived, and it's time to break out those pretty pastels and lovely pinks when it comes to lip color.
Nyla, our Lulu*s makeup artist, updated yesterday's shoot with some great new lip products, and our ladies looked absolutely lovely.
To get the look below, start off with "Trimmed in Pink" Lip Pencil by Mac, followed by Mac's "Please Me" Matte Lipstick. Then, glaze your lips with Lip Fusion Gloss in "Blush" for a dazzling finish.

With spring fast approaching, shorty shorts are hitting the shelves left and right. I put on a pair the other day and decided it was still too breezy outside and by far too early to be showing so much pale winter skin.
That's when I was inspired to pair my favorite black opaque tights with last summer's denim shorts.
The combination is so wonderfully simple. What better way to safely transition from chilly winter weather to fresh and sunny spring mornings?

The expert bloggers pictured here have mastered the whole jean short/tight pairing. I love it best with cut-off shorts or those with a cuffed hem. Paired with a loose top and a crisp blazer or crop jacket, the look is perfectly pulled together.

For footwear, try ankle booties or flats. Also, the addition of a long, chunky necklace adds the perfect finishing touch.
