  • Street Style: Style X at SXSW

While in Austin, at Style X, I saw some rad street style that I had to photograph and post, just for you! These ladies (and a few gents) mixed prints, added just the right amount of studs and rocked cut-offs in perfect Austin spring style! These are my favorites and I hope you enjoy their awesome style as much as I did! Take a look below and make sure to tell me who your favorite was.

Anyday is the perfect day for denim cutoffs, especially when paired with dark tights.

A pop of color is perfect for this Spring. I especially love this neon lace dress on the left!

Denim vest and florals, denim-on-denim with nude shoes, perfection!

Super sick studs, fringe, ripped tights and sequins for edgy looks. Love both of these outfits.

Hats, boots, and denim, oh my!

These guys have their own rad style. Shades, polished shoes and a touch of accessories.

Vintage inspired and edgy. Love the highwaisted shorts, body-con skirt and printed jumper.

    Timeless black-on-black and layered jewelry.

Pretty prints and pops of color.

Wild animal prints leggings and print-mixing layers make these outfits fun and different.

Hope to see you and snap your street style at next years Style X!

  • Street Spotlight: NYFW F/W 2012

Fashion Week is now synomynous with street style. I remember the time where I got most of my inspiration from the shows, but now I find myself more and more engrossed in the world of street style. To top it all off, I was able to glimpse some of the greatness that is the street style during NYFW. I picked some of my favorite looks below, plus, I added a special Sh*t Fashion Girls Say video after the jump. Enjoy ladies!

  • Reykjavik Street Style!

After a beautiful getaway to chilly but warm-hearted Iceland, I couldn't help but dig into the stylings of the capital city, Reykjavik. On the fringe of European style, yet still influenced by their own rich culture, these Sub-Arctic citizens put plenty of color and life into what was an unusually cold spring.

With the sun skimming just below the horizon for only a few hours each night, the night life became a much livelier (and only slightly dimmer) reflection of the long bustling days in this waterfront city. Reykjavik is infamous for it's night scene which can include pubs packed full of singing (and well-dressed) Icelanders.

Style highlights included cheery floral prints, sassy and colorful legwear, and light jackets to ward off the brisk nighttime air.

Scarves are also an easy way to fare well when the evening turns a bit chilly. Easier to tote than a jacket, a nice scarf will definitely keep you from getting the cold shoulder!

Adorable footwear was all about, with a huge emphasis on ankle booties. Lace-up, strappy or slip-on; the bootie is not going out anytime soon!

These five adorable Icelanders were outside of Reykjavik's largest shopping center, the Kringlan. Could they be any cuter????

Have you been overseas lately? What styles trends have you come across?

  • Blogger Spotlight: Julie of Orchid Grey

Happy Wednesday! Time again for my favorite post of the week, Blogger Spotlight! This week I had to give some special attention to Julie from Orchid Grey. I have been a long time reader of Julie's blog and she has kept me and her many, many readers inspired with daily outfit posts comprised of both vintage and new items. What originally got me into her blog was her tagline, "Big hair, small wallet." As a girl with hair so big things get lost within it, Julie had me from the very beginning! This month, we were lucky enough to partner up with Julie for an amazing contest with a $100 shopping spree to LuLu*s. See the end of this post for details!

Check out some of my favorite Orchid Grey looks below!

This lady-like dress is perfectly paired with a cardigan and strappy sandals. A clear 1960's umbrella finishes the look with a touch of playfulness.

Obsessed with these 70's platforms. Julie, you know who to call if you want to pass those beauties on!

I love the look of the patterned skirt with the chocolate brown tights. Great color combinations!

Staying on trend in a midi skirt, Julie adds her own special touch by choosing a vintage floral pattern.

Looking perfect in a LuLu*s maxi, Julie adds strappy buckled platforms for a polished look.

I love the bright pop of orange handbag paired with the deep blue patterened skirt.

Julie has a real eye for color combinations and patterns, and to top it off, her writing is funny and super engaging! One of the many bloggers I hope to meet in person one day, you feel like you have a friend in her just by being a reader! Make sure to hop on over to Orchid Grey to get some inspiration and to say "Hello!"

Want to win $100 dollars to shop your heart out here at LuLu*s? Visit Orchid Grey for details!

  • Blogger Spotlight: Kendi of Kendi Everyday

For this week's blogger spotlight, I wanted to shine the attention on the lovely Kendi from the popular blog Kendi Everyday. You may have heard me mention her before or have seen some pictures of her featured on this blog. I, of course, am a huge fan, and if you haven't heard of her before, allow me to introduce you to her awesome outfits and super silly sense of humor.

Kendi is a master at color mixing, and as you can see above, she is not afraid to add splashes of vibrant tones to each outfit.

Ladylike skirts and perfectly-hued blouses are finished with accentuating accessories such as a striped belt or a platform sandal. I love how Kendi takes simple pieces in great colors, then adds sweet accessories such as a beautiful leather belt or a handbag with floral detailing.

This army green vest gives the perfect military touch and pairs with the chunky jewelry and nude heels just right.

Anyone who knows me knows my affinity for a good flare, and Kendi is rocking these with some serious style! I love how she made the look casual and so chic with the striped sweater, then added a funky twist by throwing in a floral pattern. She always manages to look so crisp yet easygoing.

If you are as impressed with Kendi's color-saturated and playful wardrobe as I am, make sure to check out her blog and show some love!

  • Blogger Spotlight: Indiana from Adored Austin

Hello, friends! Time for another Blogger Spotlight! This week I would like to introduce you to the fabulous and sunny Indiana Adams of Adored Austin! This gal has a personality so bright and cheerful it radiates through her writing! Whether joking around and being silly or getting serious with heart-to-heart moments, Indiana writes across the full spectrum. You feel like you are chatting with your best friend. If only all of our friends had blogs as perfect as Indiana's!

Looking pretty and perfectly Texas, Indiana dons a Lulu*s dress at the TxSCC. Indiana was one of the organizers and she did such a stellar job tying the whole thing together. With such a big job on her hands and so much work to do, she still managed to stay stylish and put-together.

Wearing another LuLu*s dress, Indiana shines in a one shoulder printed dress by Collective Concepts! Flowing maxi dresses allow you the freedom to move around and be comfortable while still being chic and trendy!

Cute Mama style! Indiana and her son enjoying a quick laugh in the sun!

I love the Dahlia Rainfall Pink Romper shown above. She pairs it perfectly with nude wedges and a Tikkr watch! This is another great outfit for easy movement and comfort. The bright pattern makes a bold enough statement to allow for minimal jewelry and other accessories.

I love this bohemian inspired outfit! Those Cythia Vincent for Target cognac wedges were a hit awhile back and I was excited to see that Indiana was lucky enough to score a pair! I hunted them down forever only to come up empty handed. Sadly, as I read through this blog post I found out that her dog chewed up these coveted wedges!

Overall, Indiana has an easy going take on style. She always looks polished and put together without looking like she tried too hard. With attention to great patterns and fit she knows it is the details and structure of items that make or break a piece! Make sure to check out her blog for more fabulous style inspiration and to say hello!

  • Trend Report: The Great Lengths of Maxi Dresses!

I am absolutely smitten that maxi dresses and skirts are some of key pieces for fall.

I adore the sillhouettes that they create, as well as their free and flowing nature. I also enjoy that the boho/peasant skirt look isn't the prevailing look for this trend. The basic, solid colors used bring an uncomplicated elegance to the outfit and is also perfect for those who stray away from bold prints and flower patterns.

I have scoured my favorite street style blogs to bring you my favorite examples of this linear trend.

Here is a picture of me a last week in front of Lulus.com wearing my interpretaion of the style.

I'm sporting the Hot Chocolate Brown Maxi Dress, a black leather jacket, Leopards & Lace Silk Scarf, cutout tan flats, and the Zooey Bow Earrings.
