I have a confession: I'm wearing nail polish for the first time in a decade!

I can't help it, I'm totally smitten by the candy-colored palette I just received from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Not only is OCC 100% vegan and cruelty-free, but the color palettes are totally on-trend, and the quality far exceeds the price (just like LuLu*s!). When I brought these new colors out, the warehouse became a frenzy of nail painting and we discovered that these nail lacquers have a super-smooth coat that goes on really nicely, and dries quickly. What more could you want?

The Results: The warehouse favorite was undoubtedly Something, being a creamy almost-but-not-too-shocking shade of pastel blue. For me, though, it's gotta be Pansy, bearing an in-between shade of pinky-purple that is actually a little more subtle than pictured.

LuLu*s at Vida Vegan Con!

Late last month, LuLu*s was lucky enough to take part in an awesome vegan convention! At Vida Vegan Con, LuLu*s, along wth other exhibitors, had the chance to mingle with our vegan fans and customers in addition to vegan industry favorites! With amazing exhibitors such as Coconut Bliss, So Delicious, Daiya and more. We were able to connect with some of our most valued customers! Here at LuLu*s, we pride ourselves in offering one of the largest selections of vegan shoes and handbags on the web! With a section on the site of quality and cruelty free products, LuLu*s has been able to offer products to all customers, whether vegan or not. Take a look below for some sneak pics of the convention!

For our setup we chose some of our cutest and most colorful vegan shoes and handbags!

We displayed jewelry, brought our most colorful signs and made sure to advertise our amazing Twitter contest (now closed).

Super influential blogger, Sunny, of Vegan Beauty Review! We have worked with this little ray of "sun"shine before and she is such a joy!

We even had several dozen vegan cupcakes customized with our logo! Vanilla and red velvet, yum!

Another fab shoe, the Promise DaVinci's alongside the Carry On Mustard Yellow Purse! Look at all those pretty cupcakes all lined up and ready to go!

All in all, Vida Vegan Con was a great experience and we got to meet so many new friends! Thanks again to the organizers for having us!

New Year Hot Spot Style: Venice

Ahh, Venezia! Que bella!

Every year, this city of bridges and islands gathers in the Palazzo di San Marco for one of the biggest gatherings of New Year's kissers! The Palazzo di San Marco, being the biggest and most culturally relevant square in the city, is a great place to gather with your sweetie and snuggle up until the Campanile di San Marco, or bell tower, strikes midnight.

I would suggest making the effort to stay up to see the sun rise over the Adriatic Sea from the beach island of Lido, where the Auguri di Capodanno sulla spiaggia del Lido di Venezia takes place ... aka jump into the freezing cold water a la Polar Bear Swim.

Venice is high fashion, and the Palazzo di San Marco has no heaters outside. When I was there last year, the stone ground was iced over, so make sure to watch your step and have some cute walking boots like the Bamboo Follie 04 Black Mid Calf Riding Boot in Vegan Leather [sold out!] (great for going over jeans!).

Add a little bit of sparkle with the Kismet Karma Dress so you don't have to wear any metal on your neck. Again, it will be cold, so the Emma Pillsbury Coat in Soft Pink is a great piece to keep toasty in, and attract the eye of any cute Italians walking by!

Hot Trend: Cropped Leather Jackets

A quality leather jacket is a classic wardrobe staple for most, and now we're seeing a new play on this time-tested look. The cropped leather jackets of Fall 2009 are fun and spunky.

I love seeing them paired with feminine, floral dresses. The look screams: naughty but nice!

The Headliner Vegan Leather Crop Jacket [sold out!] newly arrived here at LuLu*s is a great way to get your hands on the trend. I love the blazer collar with the studs. What a knockout!!

Model Pick of the Week: BB Dakota by Jack Kava Jacket in Black

Having to try on and model fabulous clothes all day is no easy task, but for LuLu*s model Michelle, donning the BB Dakota by Jack Kava Jacket in Black [sold out!] was a dream come true!

"I love it because I've been looking for a cute leather jacket for a long time, " she stated after the photo shoot. "And this one was right in my price range!"

Indeed, at only $62, this faux leather jacket is a steal! Great paired with skirts and boots or a pair of fitted jeans, this new find from BB Dakota has endless possibilities. Doesn't it look cute on Kendra, our newest LuLu*s model? :)
