Ditch the Salon: All the Self Care Products You Need for An At-Home Spa Day

To say that 2020 has been a stressful year is an understatement. With a global pandemic, a contentious election, and a future that is completely unknown, we could all use a day (or an hour) to escape from reality and de-stress our minds and bodies.

There’s nothing relaxing about life during a pandemic. And as great as the spa or salon sounds, using public facilities might not be the safest or most comfortable for you at this time. The good news? Instead of shelling out money for an experience that is full of restrictions, you can ditch the salon and create an at-home spa day from the comfort of your bathroom or bed. Set the mood, grab your favorite self care products, and get ready to treat yourself to a much needed day of relaxation, from head to toe.

Step 1: Set The Mood

First up, you want to create a self-care atmosphere that mentally transports you somewhere else and helps you forget that you’re in your bathroom. You can easily find a premade spa music playlist on your favorite streaming service, or put on whatever tunes help you unwind. Either way, you’ll also want to get your diffuser ready with relaxing scents of lavender or eucalyptus. If you don’t have a diffuser, try a candle that will fill the room with soothing scents.

Step 2: Dress The Part

This is probably the only time we’re going to tell you to swap out your activewear for something a little cozier. Getting in the right mindset and outfit is just as important as the self care products themselves. A signature soft robe and slippers are ideal, but you can also try wearing fuzzy socks and a comfy loungewear set. Depending on what treatments you’re giving yourself, you can feel just as luxurious in a dreamy set as you do in the reusable robes and slippers you typically receive at the spa.

Step 3: Choose Your Treatments

De-Puffing Facial: Use the Honey Belle Gua Sha Jade Natural Face Lifting Tool to help lift and sculpt your face and release impurities. Using these gua sha tips, you can encourage blood flow and regeneration throughout your face. Use in tandem with your favorite serums and oils to maximize absorption and stimulate skin cells.

Mask It Up: Grab your favorite sheet or mud mask, apply, and relax. If you’re looking for something easy and non-messy, try using the Nude and Improved Skin Perfection Kit, which gives you the biggest bang for your buck with a variety of masks. Indulge in your choice of 2 sheet masks, 2 pairs of eye gels, facial wipes, and a lip gel. Whichever your poison, try using a jade roller (we love this one from Honey Belle) while your mask is on to really help the serums penetrate your skin.

Treat Your Toes: While you’re masking, don’t neglect your feet. The PoshPeel Pedicure Exfoliating Foot Peel Kit will help smooth your soles and help you forget that you haven’t had a pedicure in months. You can easily treat dry heels and rough soles with a powerful blend of alpha and beta hydroxy acids and botanical extracts all wrapped up in a convenient self-care sock treatment. Results are not immediate, but this gentle exfoliating treatment works long term by encouraging dry skin to shed over the course of 3-7 days for baby soft feet.

Quick Fix:  If you don’t have a ton of time to give yourself an at-home facelift (thank you, gua sha), try to take a quick, but effective bath. Dropping a CBD bath bomb into a hot drawn bath will make you feel immediately relaxed. With soothing lavender and ylang ylang scent, skin-softening coconut oil, and organic Hemp-derived Cannabidiol Isolate, you’ll forget all about those stressful Zoom calls. Once you dry off, finish your spa day with a CBD body lotion. With a blend of calming botanicals (like lavender and sandalwood) plus soothing CBD all whipped into a deeply moisturizing shea butter and jojoba oil formula, you’ll be left wondering why you ever spent hundreds of dollars going to the spa.
