This glitter nail art is inspired by the precise geometric patterns of the Art Deco era. By layering black nail polish under shimmery gold, it adds dimension that pops the color, making it appear 3D. You can customize this manicure with different polish colors as your base coat, and different shimmers for your line work. If you want to have a dark nail as your base, simply swap out the thin black lines for white.
What I also love about these neutral nails with glitter lines is how they remind me of Kintsugi. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. The idea being, when you embrace flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. As author Candice Kumai puts it, “you are better with your golden cracks.”
