If you love all things gold, glam, and girly, then this DIY Gold Sequin Hanger tutorial is totally for you!  Whether you need a handcrafted Mother’s Day gift or chic gifts for all of your bridesmaids, these hangers can be used to display your favorite print or poster, or to exhibit your most exquisite dresses. Check out the easy steps below!

Materials

  • Wooden Clothes Hanger with Metal Clips
  • 9-10 Yards Gold Sequin Ribbon
  • Tacky Glue
  • Scissors

Directions

  1. Place several inches of tacky glue at one end of the back of the sequin ribbon, waiting five seconds for it to become tacky before applying
  2. Starting at one end of the hanger, firmly wrap the ribbon around the wooden part in an inward direction.
  3. Continue wrapping the ribbon around the hanger, slightly overlapping each row, until you’ve reached the other end. *TIP: Holding the ribbon taut helps make for an even application and prevents the ribbon from sliding around.
  4. Cut a small piece of ribbon and glue it to each the end of the hanger to cover any exposed wood.
  5. Let the glue completely dry, and then display your favorite dress or print!

In no time at all  your closet will be elevated from fair to FAB!

  • Honestly, I enjoy your website, but this has to be one of the most pointless DIY's. I can't imagine doing this to a hanger because the sequins would catch on things and possible damage other things in my closet.

It would be soooooooooo much more useful, and still fab, if you covered the hanger with a lovely high quality Velvet fabric. It would be gentle on clothing, and the touch factor would be amazing.

Grosgrain ribbon would also be lovely. But Sequins? Um, sorry but that is really not a good plan.

  • I love this tutorial thank you. I sell kids clothing and this will make an awesome photo prop! Thank you

  • I get where the lady who left the first comment about the sequin hangers not being practical, however, these are. Photo prop, not something you would use in your closet. They’re meant to ‘display’ garments. I happen to love this idea & also happen to know that these sell for $20+ like crazy & for the cost of materials & the price they will sell for creates a nice profit that will have you buying more wood hangers & sequined ribbon which in return will have your buyers back for more! Great diy, bravo!
