Combining the love of all things fashionable and fabulous, and the dream of creating her very own thriving business, fashion illustrator and style expert extraordinaire, Dallas Shaw, has become quite the entrepreneurial icon! Here at Lulus we live for fashion, and were instantly drawn to Dallas’ innate sense of the contemporary fashion-smart woman. Her magical illustrations truly transcend the page and have caught the coveted attention of fashion’s finest: Ralph Lauren, Chanel and Donna Karan to name a few! In the spirit of the holidays and embracing everything #luluspartyperfect, we reached out to Ms Shaw to get our hands on one of her amazing, custom illustrations — can you say chic?! We were also anxious to know what has been on Dallas’ radar this season, from wardrobe essentials, her favorite mani looks, to New Year’s resolutions and more! What motivated you to start your own business?
I was drawing for Disney and decided I wanted to work in fashion, so I combined my art and fashion and brought it all online.
What are three items you couldn’t leave home without?
Phone/camera/lifeline, planner, and black aviators.
What are the most beloved pieces in your wardrobe?
Vintage Chanel bags that I’ve been collecting from Rice and Beans Vintage, my grandmother’s necklace (that she gave me for my wedding before she passed away), and distressed denim.
What are a few staples that every girl should have in her closet?
Nude pointy toe heels, Chanel red lipstick, leather jacket, a collection of white tees, trench coat, and a good watch.
What are some of your favorite trends at the moment?
Well, it’s the holidays, so jewel tones, embellishments, and metallics.
You are always donning a chic mani, what is your go-to look as of late?
Super minimalistic with nudes or blacks (or both). I’m really into shapes right now, but it might be something new next week, (stay tuned)!

How do you hope to ring in the New Year? Any resolutions?
I really hope to ring it in with my husband, Harold, in NYC; I rarely get to see him because of my job. My resolution is to spend more time with my family, to work out more frequently, and to focus on technology.
