Being a wine enthusiast myself, I thought there had to be a better way than just tossing the old corks out. I did a little research and found out a bunch of awesome things we could all do with them! Corks are derived from the Cork Oak Tree. Corks can be reused for so many projects, so why waste them?<\/p>\n<h2>Wreath:<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 5px 5px 0pt;\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/169841063_RN7Sueto_c(1).jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Supplies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Corks<\/li>\n<li>18&#8221; wreath<\/li>\n<li>Hot glue gun<\/li>\n<li>Florist&#8217;s wire<\/li>\n<li>Fabric for a bow<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Glue corks to wreath, staggering them as you go. Continue all the way around wreath. Tie a bow around the florist&#8217;s wire and attach to the wreath.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Arrangement:<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 5px 5px 0pt;\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/corky.jpg\" alt=\"\"width=\"300\" height=\"224\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Supplies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Empty vase<\/li>\n<li>Glass candle holder<\/li>\n<li>Candle for center<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Clean your empty vase well. <\/li>\n<li>Place candle into your glass candle holder. <\/li>\n<li>Place candle in the center of the vase. <\/li>\n<li>Proceed to fill corks in all the way around, leaving some space at the top.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Cork Curtains:<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 5px 5px 0pt;\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/cork-curtain-on-wine-shop-lucca.jpg\" alt=\"\"width=\"300\" height=\"224\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Supplies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Heavy string<\/li>\n<li>Needle<\/li>\n<li>Beads <\/li>\n<li>Small wooden beam <\/li>\n<li>Hammer<\/li>\n<li>Nails<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the needle to string the corks. Alternate between beads and corks for a beautiful arrangement. <\/li>\n<li>Hammer nails into wooden beam 1\/2 inch apart, leaving nail head sticking out halfway. <\/li>\n<li>Wrap excess string at end of bead chain around the protruding nail and tie off.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Hammer the nail the rest of the way in. <\/li>\n<li>Repeat until finished!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Bulletin Board:<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 5px 5px 0pt;\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/165756231_w1LTRMe3_c_large.jpg\" alt=\"\"width=\"300\" height=\"224\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Supplies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Any kind of base board (matte, foam board, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Hot glue<\/li>\n<li>Push pins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Simply hot glue the corks onto whatever base you choose. <\/li>\n<li>Let dry before hanging on wall. <\/li>\n<li>Use push pins to hang up little notes!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Place Card Holder:<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 5px 5px 0pt;\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/corkplacecard.jpeg\" alt=\"\"width=\"300\" height=\"224\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Supplies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Razor blade<\/li>\n<li>Sandpaper\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Flatten one edge of the cork by sanding it down<\/li>\n<li>Use a razor blade to cut an even and thin notch through the rounded side of the cork<\/li>\n<li>Add a name tag and you&#8217;re done!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Cork Ornaments:<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 5px 5px 0pt;\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/cork_christmas_tree.jpg\" alt=\"\"width=\"300\" height=\"224\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Supplies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Paper clip<\/li>\n<li>Ornament holder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut a paper clip in half and shove both ends into the cork<\/li>\n<li>Use an ornament holder to hang on tree<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Coasters:<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 5px 5px 0pt;\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/144165353_csAiU0Yo_c.jpg\" alt=\"\"width=\"300\" height=\"224\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Supplies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Hot glue<\/li>\n<li>Ribbon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrange corks however you see fit<\/li>\n<li>Glue together as you place them next to each other<\/li>\n<li>Put a decorative bow around arrangement and glue, securing ribbon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Jewelry:<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 5px 5px 0pt;\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/2011_0426_winecork_large.jpg\" alt=\"\"width=\"300\" height=\"224\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Supplies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Long necklace<\/li>\n<li>Jewels or gemstones<\/li>\n<li>Small rings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut cork into think slices<\/li>\n<li>Paint the corks, glue on jewels, it is up to you!<\/li>\n<li>Fasten corks by drilling a small hole in each end of the cork.
