There is no time like the present to clean out your closet! The changing of the seasons always finds us stocking up on the latest looks, but it\u2019s not always easy to find room for them in\u00a0your closet. Plus, there might be some great pieces in your closet that you’re overlooking that you can add back into rotation.\u00a0 It can be overwhelming, we know, but here are some ways to declutter and organize your closet just in time for fall!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

First, go through all your existing clothes and ask yourself the following questions, and get rid of anything you don’t need.<\/p>\n

Have you worn it in the past year?\u00a0<\/strong>We understand that some items are worn less often than others, but if you haven’t worn an item in more than a year, it’s probably best to get rid of that piece to make way for something you love!<\/p>\n

Does it fit?<\/strong>\u00a0Dress for the body you have now, and get rid of items that are too small or too large. Our figures are bound to change over time, and our clothes should change too! Stick with the clothes that fit your body now and flattering outfits are sure to follow.<\/p>\n

Is it damaged?<\/strong>\u00a0We are all guilty of hanging on to an item that we love, even though it has a hole or a stain. If you’re sure you can (and will!) get it fixed, then by all means keep it! Otherwise, if it takes more effort than you will realistically put forth, it is probably best to break up with that item.<\/p>\n

How do you feel when you wear this?<\/strong>\u00a0When you feel good, you look good! If wearing a particular item doesn’t make you feel confident, then it’s time to part ways and find something new to love.<\/p>\n

But wait, don’t just toss those clothes in the trash! Consider donating them, selling them online, or doing a clothing swap with the gal pals to give those clothes a second life!<\/p>\n\"14726179_355064381508073_6622900576147472384_n\"\n

Next, tidy up your closet itself and organize all the keepers!<\/p>\n

Get a Second Bar:\u00a0<\/strong>Instantly double your closet by hanging a lower bar for pants and smaller pieces. Get hooks or other racks as well to really make the most of your space.<\/p>\n

Utilize Your Top Shelf:<\/strong>\u00a0Get rid of empty shoe boxes, and anything else cluttering the top shelf of your closet, get cute woven baskets and use them for extra storage for accessories and out-of-season pieces.<\/p>\n

Color Code Everything:\u00a0<\/strong>Not only does it create a pleasing visual and make your closet look extra chic, but it will make it much easier to find what you need in a rush!<\/p>\n

Get Stacking Laundry Baskets: <\/strong>Separate all your laundry into baskets that stack on top of each other and sort by color, things you’ll wear again, etc. If you’re fortunate enough to have a walk-in closet, go ahead and keep them inside your closet and out of sight.<\/p>\n
