Summer vacation may be over but there are plenty of reasons to be excited about fall. Aside from the fashion, the crisp weather, the outdoor activities, and the pumpkin spice everything,\u00a0<\/em>a fresh crop of new, obsessable television shows are on the roster this season. So grab your coziest blanket and your comfiest sweater, then settle in for some quality TV time. The five shows ahead are our top picks for “ones to watch.”

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina\u00a0<\/em>(Netflix)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Just as Sabrina the Teenage Witch was a spinoff of Archie comics, this new series is a product of Riverdale<\/em>. Have we got your attention yet? We thought so. Don’t expect the bright, cheerful cartoon version of this half-witch, half human, though \u2014 or the perky Melissa Joan Hart version. The\u00a0Chilling Adventures of Sabrina<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is darker and creepier,\u00a0with Kiernan Shipka in the lead role. We can’t wait to see how this new take on one of our ’90s favorites unfolds.<\/p>\n

You<\/em>\u00a0(Lifetime)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Two words: <\/strong>Penn. Badgley. Yep, Gossip Girl<\/em>‘s main man is back but in a wayyy less sweet and huggable role. In this modern day tale, he sets out to stalk and trick his crush,\u00a0into falling in love with him \u2014 using all the Internet info on her he can find. Um, creeper. This ain’t no Dan Humphreys. We’ll also be tuning in for\u00a0Pretty Little Liars<\/em>\u00a0alum Shay Mitchell, who looks like she’s taking on yet another juicy role in a show full of drama and deception.<\/p>\n

Maniac <\/strong><\/em>(Netflix)<\/strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

It’s been a hot minute since we saw Emma Stone and Jonah Hill starring opposite each other and we are more than ready to see the two reunite. In this sci-fi remake of a Norwegian show, the pair play patients participating in a\u00a0“mysterious pharmaceutical trial,”\u00a0testing a\u00a0medication invented by a doctor played by Justin Theroux. The pill’s proposed purpose? To cure any mental ailment\u00a0from heartbreak to pain. The rest of\u00a0<\/i>the plot\u00a0is being kept a secret, but prepare for this experiment not going at all as planned.<\/p>\n

Charmed<\/em> (The CW)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

What can we say? ’90s witches are totally trending right now. In this reboot of the supernatural sister series, three new sibs discover they are Charmed Ones. We’re stoked to see this girl power show get introduced to a new generation \u2014 and with three women of color in the lead roles.<\/p>\n

All American\u00a0<\/em>(The CW)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

If you’ve been missing Friday Night Lights something fierce, join the club \u2014 then tune into this show about a black high school football player recruited from South LA to play for Beverly Hills High. Inspired by the life of professional football player Spencer Paysinger (played by Daniel Ezra), the series follows the star as he navigates life in a world that’s vastly different from his own. Look for Taye Diggs as Spencer’s coach, along with a whole lot of drama (and eye candy).<\/p>\n
