In fact, boutique studios are popping up all over the country, and the sport has even found a celebrity fanbase: Model <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shape.com\/celebrities\/interviews\/adriana-lima-boxing-puma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adriana Lima<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> has been boxing for over 15 years, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shape.com\/celebrities\/interviews\/adriana-lima-boxing-puma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jennifer Aniston<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> added it to her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/resistance-band-glute-workout\/\">workout rotation<\/a>, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BXiIsm9B7Uh\/?hl=en&amp;taken-by=rumble_boxing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hailey Baldwin and Kendall Jenner<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> have taken turns at the bag. We talked to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rumble-boxing.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rumble<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019s Founding Trainer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rumble-boxing.com\/instructors_12900000001\/erika\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Erika Hammond<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on why boxing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/9-on-demand-fitness-apps-to-keep-you-moving-anytime-and-anywhere\/\">fitness<\/a> class is more than just throwing punches, and why it will be your new favorite exercise routine.\u00a0 The benefits of a boxing workout are plentiful: says Hammond, \u201cYou can expect to walk out feeling exhausted, feeling stronger, and feeling more powerful.\u201d Here&#8217;s why you should get ready to, well, rumble.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_225767\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-225767\" style=\"width: 1000px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-225767 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/RumbleBoxing.jpg\" alt=\"blonde woman in black sports bra and leggings practicing a boxing workout\" width=\"1000\" height=\"666\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-225767\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image via Rumble Boxing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b>1.No experience is required.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Even if you\u2019re not Rocky Balboa or have never picked up a pair of gloves, anyone can sign up for a boxing class. Studios cater to all fitness levels and Rumble, for example, takes you \u201cthrough the basics and teach you everything you need to know to get a safe and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/the-13-best-workout-music-2019\/\">killer workout<\/a> in,\u201d Hammond explains. Rumble\u2019s studios are dimly lit so you don\u2019t have to be self-conscious of how you look doing an uppercut in a room full of other people, and before the class, the instructor briefs everyone on the six main punches, as well as the correct form and stance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2. You\u2019ll get in both cardio and strength training in one session. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Why choose between cardio and strength training when you can have both at the same time? Swinging your arms and hitting a bag builds strength, and the constant movement of boxing also gets your heart rate up and provides intense cardio (try doing a jab-cross combo non-stop for 60 seconds and you\u2019ll quickly see why). At Rumble, the class is broken up into 10 rounds, half on the bag and half at a bench doing strength training exercises with weights.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3. It\u2019s a full-body workout.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> It\u2019s not just your arms that are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/ways-to-stay-in-shape-when-you-work-full-time\/\">getting a workout<\/a>, though they definitely will get an amazing one. Using proper boxing stance and shifting your weight into the various punches also works your core, back, and legs. When asked what parts of your bod boxing works, Hammond simply states, \u201cthe whole dang thang.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>4. Your body <\/b><b><i>and<\/i><\/b><b> your mind will be challenged.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Staying on your toes, keeping your balance, remembering the different punches, and following hit combinations and sequences require some serious concentration. This isn\u2019t a class where your mind can wander off to what emails you forgot to answer at work or what you\u2019re going to have for dinner that night. Boxing requires you to be present and have complete mental focus, a nice break from all the multi-tasking you probably do the rest of the day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>5. It\u2019s empowering. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There\u2019s something to be said for being able to hit something as hard as you want, with no judgment or risk of hurting someone or being hit back. Everyone has those days where they can\u2019t <em>even<\/em>, and during those times, boxing could be the healthy outlet you need. Says Hammond, \u201cYou get to let some steam out and let that inner badass shine through as you punch the bag!\u201d Plus, the confidence you\u2019ll get after finishing a class will carry over even after you leave the studio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>6. It\u2019s a fun way to relieve some stress. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Exercise, in general, is a great way to relieve stress, but add some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/the-13-best-workout-music-2019\/\">killer playlists<\/a>, a new challenge, and a room full of other people throwing left and right hooks, and you\u2019ll forget you\u2019re even breaking a sweat. Hammond says of Rumble, which is often been referred to as the SoulCycle of boxing classes, \u201cThe curated music, the lights, the energy from our instructors is just one of a kind: The ambiance makes you feel like you are in a club, not a workout, and 45 minutes feels like five!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Have you tried boxing as a fitness routine?
