Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer, whisking until sugar is dissolved. (This is your simple syrup.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 and \u00bd ounces is equal to one shot &#8211; use a shot glass to measure in a pinch. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To make the cocktail, mix 3 ounces cherry juice, 1 and 1\/2 ounces gin, 1 and 1\/2 ounces of the simple syrup, and top with 2 ounces club soda.
