How do you celebrate Mom without being able to give her a big bear hug? Given this year’s unique circumstances, many of us are celebrating the holiday at home or even, away from those that we love most. But that doesn\u2019t mean Mother\u2019s Day celebrations need to be cancelled, we just need to make some small adjustments. Mother\u2019s Day is a day to appreciate moms and everything they have done for us. With a little creativity and planning, you can still make sure mom feels all<\/em> of the love this Mother\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

1. Flower Arranging at Home<\/h3>\n

Support local florists or pick up some bunches from Trader Joe\u2019s (they have the best prices on flowers!) and try your hand at flower arranging. Many florists are doing virtual lessons, so you can craft your own special bouquet. Mom will be reminded of how much you love her everytime she looks at her homemade bouquet.<\/p>\n

2. Virtual Dance Class<\/h3>\n

If your mom likes to break it down, embrace the joy that dancing brings and book a class<\/a> that you can take online. There are many studios offering virtual classes or instructors that you can take on Instagram. Shake off all of your stress and get a fun workout in at the same time. If you\u2019re not into dancing, try doing something more low key, like a yoga or pilates class. Afterwards, you can grab some coffee or mimosa and have a fun cool-down catch-up.<\/p>\n

3. Virtual Wine Tasting<\/h3>\n

Turn mom\u2019s favorite activity \u2014 drinking wine, of course \u2014 into a memorable moment.\u00a0 It might not be Sonoma or Tuscany, but with services like In Good Taste<\/a> and Winc<\/a>, you can bring the grape country into the comfort of your own home. Send your Mom a tasting kit or selections of wines and schedule a Zoom call with some tasty cheese and crackers. Compare the varieties and find a favorite that you can enjoy together when it\u2019s safe to share a bottle.<\/p>\n

4. Social Distanced Picnic<\/h3>\n

You can do a social distanced picnic in-person or virtually. If you\u2019re together, take advantage of the warmer weather. Grab some blankets or beach chairs, get mom\u2019s favorite snacks and a bottle of wine together and head outside for a distanced meal. While we\u2019re not able to do much, this is a great time to relax and have a meaningful conversation. If you have to virtually picnic, try ordering food delivery to your mom\u2019s house from her favorite restaurant or coffee shop and share a meal on a video call.<\/p>\n

5. R&R at Home<\/h3>\n

Mom has always taken care of you, so it\u2019s time to pamper her with some self-cafe and relaxation. You might typically go to the spa and indulge in massages and treatments, but this year try bringing the spa to the comfort of your home. If you\u2019re lucky enough to physically be with your mom, craft up some refreshing cucumber water, light a lavender candle and sit back and relax with masks on. You might even want to give her a manicure! If you\u2019re sending a care package, fill it with the spa-day essentials. You can create a relaxation box with candles, mom\u2019s favorite tea, face masks, pretty nail polish and even a cozy pair of slippers.<\/p>\n

6. Host a Tribute Night<\/h3>\n

Get your siblings together and have everyone create a slide filled with their favorite pictures and memories. Present it to her over a Zoom call and have everyone talk about their very favorite things about mom. This is sure to bring on laughter, tears, or probably both.<\/p>\n
