Boozy popsicles, also known as poptails, are the latest craze to hit the culinary world, thanks to a recent influx of the alcohol-infused goodies at major retailers like Costco and Walmart.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems to get hotter and hotter every summer, so the need to be refreshed is key,\u201d says Felicia Chavez, a bartender and mixologist in Orange County, Calif. \u201cNothing beats an ice-cold drink<\/a>, so adding some nostalgia makes it that much better. The great thing about these drinks is that they are relatively spill-proof, so they\u2019re perfect for picnics<\/a> or out by the pool<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

To make your own healthy poptails at home, Chavez recommends investing in a few essential kitchen tools first. \u201cA blender is probably the most helpful in this situation,\u201d she says. \u201cBut, if you decide to use any pur\u00e9ed fruits, you can always have a strainer or sieve on hand as well. For pouring into your molds, you may also want to have a measuring cup and funnel for less mess.\u201d<\/p>\n\"frozen\n

\u201cMaking them yourself ensures that you have control over the quality of ingredients,\u201d says Chavez. \u201cWe all know how important it is to be aware of what we\u2019re putting in our bodies, so using homemade products is always a plus. Once you\u2019ve learned how to make a great boozy popsicle, you\u2019ll be able to wow your friends at your next pool party!\u201d<\/p>\n
