To see how to DIY the design, scroll on.<\/p>\n<h2>Geode Nails<\/h2>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-242800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Agate-Nails-3a.jpg\" alt=\"orange autumnal geode nails\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" \/>\n<h4>Supplies:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Sheer base coat (I used Butter London Nail Foundation)<\/li>\n<li>Fall nail polish shades\u00a0 (Rust, Orange, Taupe, Copper&#8211;any fall shades that are custom to your preferred palette)<\/li>\n<li>Toothpick or thin dotting tool<\/li>\n<li>Fan brush<\/li>\n<li>Thin or small brush for nail art<\/li>\n<li>Acetone for brush clean up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Instructions:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Paint clean, filed nails with one coat of your favorite sheer base coat. I added blobs of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/2652\/blush.html\">pink<\/a>, peachy beige, and copper to my first burnt orange\/red shade.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-242805\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Agate-Nails-Step-3a.jpg\" alt=\"swirling colors of nail polish for fall wedding nails\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> While your palette is still wet, take a toothpick or skinny dotting tool and blend the colors as shown, quickly swiping through the polish in an &#8216;S&#8217; curve, squiggling back and forth. This might take a couple of practice tries, so you can try this method on paper or a piece of foil first to get the hang of it. You will need to re-scoop a section of the swirled polish for application on each nail, and you can clean the fan brush between each nail by gently dipping it in a small glass of acetone.
