The holidays<\/a> are definitely going to look different this year (what doesn’t?) With the pandemic still very much around, we have to make sure that we\u2019re still taking precautions to keep everyone safe. Holidays are typically packed with extended family, which often includes the elderly, so your Thanksgiving table should be a lot smaller this year (According to the CDC<\/a>, celebrating just with your immediate household is the safest option). While we\u2019ll have to find alternative ways to connect<\/a> with loved ones during the holidays, there is an upside. Fewer seats at the table means more time for stylish Thanksgiving tablescapes.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s your chance to go all out with the tabletop decor. From stepping it up with wrapping paper to embracing natural textures, here are five inspiring Thanksgiving tablescapes we spotted on Instagram that you can easily recreate for your family.<\/p>\n

Bundle Up<\/h2>\n

Since it\u2019s safest to entertain outside<\/a> due to Covid-19, try setting up a cozy<\/a> setting in your backyard, garage or deck. Rachel<\/a>, founder of The Clover Home<\/a>, set up her Thanksgiving tablescape outside and it is giving us all of the fall<\/a> feels. Playing up the warm and neutral<\/a> color palette from the woods, Rachel got creative and used a blanket scarf<\/a> as her tablecloth. Avoid having glass outside by swapping out your classic wine glasses for metal glassware.<\/p>\n

Get Crafty<\/h2>\n

Grab your favorite, most festive<\/a> wrapping paper, and get cutting! Gretchen Black<\/a> set up a beautiful tablescape that we are dying to recreate. Setting a table for multiple people can get expensive when you have to purchase placemats, chargers, napkins, flatware, etc. Black got crafty and cut pretty wrapping paper into the size of placemats to add a fun pop of color and visual texture to the table.<\/p>\n

She also suggests using the wrapping paper as a runner down the table. Not only is this creative, but it cuts down on the amount of post-Thanksgiving meal cleanup. Finish the table off with fresh eucalyptus to bring the element of nature inside.<\/p>\n

Adding touches of gold<\/a> to your table, while mixing in natural woods instantly creates an elegant and boho<\/a> setting. Forgo the tablecloth and runner and let a natural table be the canvas for your place settings. Play up textures with a woven placemat, knotted napkin, and mix in knobbed glasses to keep things interesting.<\/p>\n

Anais Grullon<\/a> nailed this setting by playing heavily into textures. In the same neutral<\/a> color palette, she styled a textured linen tablecloth and napkins with textured plates and accents. The natural stoneware plates with rims feel organic against the tablecloth, while the layers of light-colored pumpkins and grasses finish off the tablescape perfectly. When it comes to flatware, play up family heirlooms, and serve up your meal with your grandparents’ silverware.<\/p>\n

Go Bold<\/h2>\n

Black matte dinnerware has been a big trend, and it isn\u2019t going away anytime soon. Ajai Guyot, founder and designer of True Home<\/a>, created an outdoor entertaining oasis<\/a> for her parents to serve up Thanksgiving dinner. Playing nicely against the black chairs and grey<\/a> table, Guyot stayed on theme and incorporated beautiful champagne flatware with bold, black<\/a> matte dinnerware. To complement the place settings, Guyot lined the table with gold candlestick holders and oversized vases. Varying the heights and sizes of the candles and vases helps keep the centerpiece interesting.<\/p>\n
