Your fitness routine should be one you can sustain all year long and one that you enjoy and look forward to for reasons outside of simply looking good in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/swim\">swimsuit<\/a> over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/893\/summer-fashion.html\">summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In order to maintain a healthy fitness routine, it\u2019s important that you get outside, even during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/4400\/cozy-winter.html\">winter<\/a>. Since gyms and studios have restrictions due to COVID-19, working out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/5476\/the-stay-in-shop.html\">at home<\/a> or outside might be your only options. While working out at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/99_2346\/home-novelty.html\">home<\/a> or inside an apartment gym is great, getting fresh air and switching up your routine will help reduce burn-out that Miriam often refers to. Going on a nice long hike is a great workout for your body and mind, letting you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/tv-shows-to-binge\/\">mentally escape<\/a> from the hustle and bustle in your everyday life. Since a lot of us are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/5416\/work-from-home-edit.html\">working from home<\/a>, our daily steps might clock on the low side, versus when we were commuting. Logging a long walk or run with a friend will help you keep your activity levels up. Ice skating works almost every major muscle group, providing you with the ultimate full-body workout.<\/p>\n<p>With the inevitable seasonal mood changes that come with cold weather and less sunshine, it&#8217;s even more important to find ways to move your body throughout the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/4810\/winter-clothing-essentials.html\">winter<\/a> months. \u201cExercise can quite literally make you happier,\u201d says Fried. \u201cIt alleviates anxiety, reduces stress, helps you sleep better, and gives you a natural energy boost; all things that are much needed all winter long.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whatever outdoor winter activities you prefer, Fried highly recommends keeping a schedule and going in with a plan. \u201cCarve out scheduled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/5616\/activewear.html\">workout<\/a> time in your calendar and make a date with yourself. It is already SO much harder to keep a routine going during the winter, so you want to give yourself every possible chance to succeed and follow through,\u201d she says. Just winging it can work sometimes, but you\u2019re far more likely to stick to a structured routine or program.<\/p>\n<p>And remember, the plan doesn\u2019t haven\u2019t to be super complex!
