The look began trending last holiday season and it&#8217;s only going to gain steam, especially come Valentine&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p>With the right supplies and the help of some magnetic gel nail polishes in shades of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/262_463\/pink-dresses.html\">pink<\/a>, you can get this light-catching look <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/categories\/5476\/the-stay-in-shop.html\">at home<\/a>. I like Tammy Taylor \u2018Glass Slipper\u2019)<\/li>\n<li>LED light (Le Mini Macaron has a great miniature portable light that is easy to use at home for non-professionals)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Instructions:<\/h4>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-246862\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Step1.jpeg\" alt=\"hand with clean dry nails prepped for mancure\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1333\" \/>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Start out with clean prepped nails, and apply one coat of gel base coat.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tip: It is very important to have buffed, clean, dry nails before applying a base coat. Cleanse the nail with alcohol to make sure there is no excess oil on nail beds.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-246864\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Step2.jpeg\" alt=\"step 2 with pink gel nail polish of velvet nails tutorial\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1333\" \/>\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> Apply a thin coat of light pink magnetic gel polish on your pink and ring finger nail and cure in LED light.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tip: Depending on the LED light, cure for at least 30 seconds. Each light can be different depending on how strong the voltage is. Check the instructions in your light to know the exact time to cure. <\/em><\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-246866 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Step3.jpeg\" alt=\"step 3 of nail tutorial with gel magnetic nail polish on 4 fingers in light and dark pinks\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1333\" \/>\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Apply a think coat of slightly darker pink magnetic gel polish on your middle, index, and thumb, and cure in LED light.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tip: If you get any polish on your skin, clean up before curing.<\/em><\/p>\n<div>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-246867\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lulus.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Step4.jpeg\" alt=\"hand using magnetic bar to set gel velvet nails\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1333\" \/>\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> Apply a second coat of polish on all nails. Before curing, hold the magnetic bar on the bottom corner, then repeat on the opposite top corner. Repeat on all nails.
