At one point or another, almost every one of us has thought about cutting bangs. Whether we’ve actually done<\/em> it, though–well, that’s a different story. Trying out the newest hair trend isn’t for the commitment-phobic, especially when it requires a major chop. But, then again, is a chop actually required? Can you fake bangs?<\/p>\n

The answers are, respectively, no, it doesn’t, and yes, you can. This year, several different styles of bangs are trending, from ‘70s<\/a>-inspired curtain<\/a> bangs to voluminous side-swept ’90s-esque<\/a> looks. Face-framing curtain bangs are long enough to pull back when desired, making them super versatile and flattering. The idea is to add a little layering and volume in the front, almost like you’re in the midst of growing out your fringe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Instructions:<\/h3>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Part your hair down the middle<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Use a flat iron to straighten the hair on both sides of the part, pulling straight down in one large section. Secure at the root to cool.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong> Curve each side away from the face, drape, and secure with an alligator clip.<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Once the hair has cooled, release the clips and add some medium-hold hairspray<\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Create a deep side part.<\/p>\n

Step 2: <\/strong>Use a flat iron to straighten in the direction the hair will lay.<\/p>\n

Step 3: <\/strong>Drape and secure the hair with a bobby pin above the ear. Tuck the hair behind the ear and pull the remaining hair over to cover.<\/p>\n
