UX Designer

The UX Designer is responsible for the creation of design solutions that provide a superior experience to internal and external user groups and customer bases.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep the interface beautiful and easy to use. Direct the visual appearance of all new features and enhancements on our software application
Initiate, suggest, and spearhead major UI re-factorings for a more intuitive user-experience
Design elegant solutions to complex workflows
Document UX updates to websites and mobile apps
Conceive of, define, and document new features and functionality to increase conversion and growth and support business goals
Maintain close relationships with our design, testing, and engineering team members to ensure that all requirements are clearly understood
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to continually identify ways to grow the user experience
Develop a deep understanding of our customers and their needs by assisting with focus groups, user testing, and surveys
Contribute to overall project quality by assisting with user flows, functional specifications, user stories, and prototype
Act as the user-advocate during the development process, subjecting early-stage designs to usability testing or expert review, and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective
Take the initiative in providing input and feedback in both departmental discussions and on issues relating to other departments
Develop wireframes, behavioral specifications and personas
Related projects as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS
Academic background in visual/human interaction, computer science, graphic design, or related field preferred
Detailed user-centered design process including rapid prototyping and user testing
Strong visual design sensibilities
Proven record of design usability for web-based experiences—large-scale or e-commerce experience a plus
Proficient working with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Proficient in working with Adobe's Creative Suite and/or other modern interaction design tools (e.g. Sketch)
