The last night of the year tends to bring out our adventurous sides, and nothing says party-ready quite like shimmery rhinestone makeup. Because if you can’t rock sparkly eyes for New Year’s festivities, then when can you? The best thing about finding a glam New Year’s Eve makeup look? You can recreate the holiday beauty magic whenever you want to make a splash at a special occasion (or a date night, or a Wednesday–whatever!). Because why save all the fun for one night of the year?
Ahead, see how to DIY a New Year’s Eve makeup look to remember–and get ready to sparkle.
Step 1: Prep the lid space and lower lash line with a matte pencil. This acts as a base and helps the eyeshadows we use last all night (making them dance-proof!)
Step 2: Press on to the lid a grey-taupe color. Run the same color on the lower lash line to smoke out the look.
Step 3: Take the lightest color onto the brow bone and inner corners of the eye to brighten the look.
Step 4: My favorite way to add shimmer tastefully is by topping off any eyeshadow with a silver sparkle shadow. This adds the most beautiful dimension to any look.
Step 5: Run a gel eye crayon on the upper lash line to intensify the eyes.
Step 6: Using tweezers and lash glue, place flat back round rhinestones in size 1.5mm on the eyelids, brow bone, and lower lash line. Make sure to not overcrowd and place them symmetrically.
Step 7: Add lashings of your favorite mascara and your sparkly eye makeup look is complete!
Step 8: Flush your cheeks with pretty pinks. Use bronzer and highlighter to add dimension to your face.
Step 9: Line the lips with a lip pencil and top it off with your favorite pink/nude high shine lip gloss.
