DIY Lavender Coconut Whipped Body Butter

Is your skin in need of some serious nourishment from the harsh winter weather? If yes, then give this DIY Lavender Coconut Whipped Body Butter a try, and you’ll feel like you’ve just gotten back from a weekend getaway at a luxury spa! We chose three of the best ingredients for natural skin care that will leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and refreshed.

Lavender essential oil is not only relaxing but helps clear up acne and breakouts, while vitamin E oil helps add elasticity to give your skin a firmed, toned, and youthful glow. As we’ve mentioned in our DIY Coconut Coffee Scrub Cubes, coconut oil is kind of the holy grail of natural skin care, so of course we chose this as our main ingredient. Take a look at the easy steps below!

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup room temperature organic coconut oil (the coconut oil needs to be in a solid form to be turned into a whipped mixture, so refrigerate until firm if your coconut oil is very soft or liquid)
  • 10-15 drops lavender essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
  • Standing or handheld electric mixer (standing is easier since this has to mix for so long)
  • Rubber spatula
  • Airtight glass jar

 

Directions:

  1. Add the coconut oil, lavender essential oil, and vitamin E oil to mixing bowl
  2. Mix on high speed with a metal whisk for 7-8 minutes (scraping down the sides of the bowls with the rubber spatula every couple of minutes) or until a light, airy consistency is achieved and white peaks form.
  3. Spoon the whipped coconut butter into an airtight glass jar, and apply anywhere on your body immediately after showering!

Tip:

Your butter might feel a bit moist after whipping it, but it will set up to the correct consistency after a few hours.
