How to Wear It: 5 Fresh Ways to Rock a Hair Scarf

Upgrading our tresses with hair accessories is one of our favorite styling hacks. For lazy days, bad hair days, or any occasion when you want to add a little oomph to your outfit, adding extras like hair clips, a headband, or a silky scarf is a foolproof option. We’ve shown you how to tie a hair scarf before, and now, we’ve got more ways to wear this timeless trend. Whether you’re growing out your tresses or just need a chic pick-me-up, check out more easy scarf styling tricks ahead!

The Bandana Style:

Instructions:

Pull hair over the looped scarf.
Place the knot at the nape of your neck.
Pull the scarf up and over.
Pull down face-framing pieces.

The High Bun with Head Scarf:

Instructions:

Create a “messy bun” by pulling the hair into a high ponytail and secure the bun with bobby pins.
Place the knot front and center.
Tuck the points under.
Pull out tiny sections around the middle part.

The Bandana Cap

Instructions:

Fold the scarf into a triangle.
Tie the scarf around your head in a double knot at the base.
Pull the point of the scarf over your head and tuck under the knot.

The Half-Up Knot:

Instructions:

Gather your hair into a mid-height half-up ponytail, then pull down face-framing pieces.
Pull the hair through the scrunchie, only pulling through partially on the last pull-through.
Pull on the hair at the crown for volume.

The Braided Pony:

Instructions:

Gather the hair into a low ponytail, secure it with elastic, and pull down face-framing pieces.
Pull on the hair at the crown for volume.
Braid the ponytail into a simple three-strand braid and secure with a small elastic.
Pull on the braid for messiness and volume.
Tie the hair scarf into a knot around the top elastic and finally, wrap a small section of hair around the lower elastic, and secure with a bobby pin.
