These Rose Quartz-Inspired Nails Will Give You *All* the Good Vibes

Published by

The basic laws of physics teach us that everything in the universe is made of energy, vibrating at different frequencies. Crystals vibrate at a very high frequency, and humans—for a variety of different reasons—vibrate at a much lower one. By integrating crystals into our daily wellness and beauty rituals, it causes our frequency to elevate, allowing us to reap many different benefits, specifically to our health and well-being–and even our physical appearance.

These pink marble nails are inspired by the light and bubbly energy of rose quartz, the quintessential stone of love in all forms. Its soothing vibrations act as a balm to one’s emotions, allow you to release tension and stress, and dissolve any anger or resentment you may have. Sounds pretty good, right? Let’s start!

Rose Quartz Nails

Supplies:

  • Sheer pink nail polish (my favorite is Kiss me, I’m Kind by Orly)
  • Clear nail polish/topcoat
  • White nail polish
  • Aluminum foil (to use as a palette)
  • Thin nail art brush (my favorite is the Orly Striper Brush)
  • Dry flat nail art brush (my favorite is the Orly Gelfx Dry Brush)

Step 1: Apply a single coat of a sheer light pink polish to the nail. Try to do this in 3 simple strokes: one on the left, one on the right, and one down the center.

Step 2: Time to start marbling! Using the thin nail art brush and white nail polish, begin painting 2-3 imperfect squiggly lines to each nail. Try to make each nail slightly different for the most realistic looking, rose-quartz effect.

Step 3: Using a dry flat nail art brush and clear nail polish, begin blending out each squiggly line to make it look blurred. Make sure that you don’t use the quick-drying topcoat for this step or the lines won’t blend properly.

Step 4: Using the three-stroke technique, apply a thin layer of the sheer pink color over the marble design.

Optional Step: If you’re feeling extra sparkly (or need to hide a mistake!) use your thin brush to add metallic or glitter accents to the design. Remember, the more imperfect, the better!

Final Step: The topcoat is the final and most important step for a long-lasting and professional-looking manicure. Use the 3-stroke technique to apply a topcoat and admire your work!

*Pro tip: If you get polish on your cuticles, don’t worry! Simply dip your dry brush in acetone, blot on a paper towel, and use it to clean up any mistakes.
