Resilience, Community, and Style: Behind the Scenes of the Altadena Girls Prom with Lulus

Published by

We’re still glowing from the magic of Altadena Girls’ very first Prom—a night full of sparkle, joy, and unforgettable memories. Lulus was honored to be part of this powerful moment, celebrating resilience, sisterhood, and the beauty of showing up for one another.

A grassroots movement founded by 14-year-old Avery Colvert, Altadena Girls was born out of love and community care in the wake of the Eaton Canyon fire. What began as a simple effort to help a few friends turned into a powerful organization dedicated to supporting young women through free resources, safe spaces, and now—an epic prom night they’ll never forget.

To help bring this dream event to life, Lulus donated over 200 brand-new prom dresses to the Altadena Girls Pop-Up Prom Shop, where teens affected by the fires could come and pick out everything they needed—completely free of charge. From glam gowns to sparkling accessories, we loved helping these girls find the look for their big night. We also made a $10,000 donation to help fund the event and support Altadena Girls’ ongoing mission to empower and uplift.

From the moment the music started to the final dance, the energy in the room was pure magic. Seeing these young women shine after everything they’ve been through was nothing short of inspiring. For many of these girls, prom wasn’t just about the dress or the party—it was about feeling seen, celebrated, and supported. And thanks to the amazing team at Altadena Girls, they got all that and more.

We’re so proud to support a movement that’s changing lives in real time—and this prom is just the beginning. Thank you, Altadena Girls, for letting Lulus be a part of your beautiful story.

Until next year, Prom Queens!
