Summer 2020 Bucket List: 20 Fun Things to Do This Season

Published by
Zoe Roscoe

Repeat after me: Summer is not canceled! We just have to get our creative juices flowing and find clever ways to spend our time. Unfortunately, your summer plans for exploring a new city abroad and filling up your wrist with festival bracelets are far out of reach, but that doesn’t mean that you need to be bored in the house all season. There are plenty of activities you can do outside and with friends–socially distanced, of course. To keep you and your quaranteam entertained, check out the ultimate Summer bucket list, 2020-ready!

Summer Bucket List 2020:

1. Have a picnic! Grab your picnic blanket, throw a bottle of wine in an insulated bottle, and head to the park or backyard for the day.

2. Make sangria (try this one with rosé)!

3. Find a swimsuit that you love.

4. Go to the drive-in movies (or have an outdoor movie night in your backyard).

5. Go a full day without TV or the internet (you can do it)!

6. Host a bonfire–with s’mores of course (if you’ve never tried substituting the chocolate bar with a Reese’s, you’re missing out).

7. Go for a hike/bike ride.

8. Make a summer playlist.

9. Go camping.

10. Host a backyard games tournament with a small group of friends (Professional sports might be canceled, but you can create your own entertainment).

11. Create your own tie-dye (if you haven’t already done this during quarantine, get a kit, grab whatever white clothing you have and release your inner artist)!

12. Read a new book.

13. Perform a random act of kindness. (This can be donating food, feeding someone’s parking meter, paying for the coffee order behind you in the drive-through.)

14. Try a water sport (like kayaking, paddleboarding, whitewater rafting, jet skiing, waterskiing).

15. Learn a new recipe (find something that you can make your signature dish when asked to bring something to a party).

16. Watch fireworks on the 4th of July.

17. Master a TikTok dance!

18. Host a wine tasting (Get a couple of bottles to taste with your significant other or friends! If you’re having friends over, serve individually wrapped cheese and cracker trays or buy these for a contactless snack.)

19. Learn how to grill (try these kebabs or this refreshing grilled fruit salad).

20. Make your own ice pops (try a boozy one with tequila)!

Tell us which of these activities you’ve checked off–and share any other summer bucket list 2020 ideas in the comments!
