Berries and Cream Parfaits are the Perfect Red, White, and Blue Dessert–No Baking Required!

Do you sense a theme with these recipes? Can’t stop, won’t stop with the no-bake wonders! Next up: The easiest parfait recipe to make for the holiday weekend (or any time)! These Berries and Cream Parfaits are light, decadent, and the perfect red, white, and blue dessert! Plus, the only part that you have to make is the whipped cream–and don’t skip that, either: Homemade whipped cream takes just a few minutes to whip up, and it’s light, creamy, dreamy, and has just the perfect hint of sweetness.

These desserts are like the no-bake cousin of Strawberry Shortcakes! Instead of biscuits, though, we’re layering cubes of pound cake or angel food cake in the bottom of our parfaits, then adding layers of our fresh whipped cream, blueberries, and strawberries. (Hence, the red, white, and blue dessert part.) It’s important to let the strawberries sit in a bowl with the tablespoon of sugar while you make the whipped cream; this helps the strawberry juices get going and takes this July 4th dessert recipe up a notch!
