‘Tis the season for everything pumpkin, and this pumpkin smoothie recipe is an absolute must-try! Not only are these smoothies incredibly wholesome, but they’re also bursting with delicious flavors. Who says healthy can’t be exciting?

In crafting these rich and creamy pumpkin smoothies, we combine real pumpkin puree, frozen banana, almond butter, Greek yogurt, milk, maple syrup, and a dash of cinnamon. For that extra indulgence, don’t forget to crown them with a dollop of whipped cream and a generous sprinkling of chopped pecans.

Now, let’s explore some delicious substitutions. Any type of milk will work seamlessly in this recipe, making it a delightful option for all my dairy-free babes. Additionally, if needed, you can opt for a dairy-free Greek yogurt. Personally, I always keep overripe bananas in my freezer for easy access to frozen ones, but fresh bananas will work just as well if that’s what you have on hand.

For those with almond allergies, consider using cashew butter or sunflower seed butter, or simply omit it if necessary. While I have a penchant for maple syrup in this smoothie, honey or agave nectar are perfectly acceptable alternatives. If you’re looking to boost the nutrition quotient, consider adding a touch of protein powder.

Feel free to adjust the recipe to your liking—double or halve it to suit your needs. After all, you’re in control of your smoothie destiny! Pumpkin Smoothie Recipe

Yield: 2 smoothies

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • ¼ cup almond butter
  • ½ cup greek yogurt
  • ⅔ cup milk (any kind works)
  • 2-3 tbsp maple syrup
  • Dash of cinnamon & nutmeg
  • 1 frozen banana, sliced
  • 2 scoops protein powder, optional

For Topping: 

  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Add the milk to a high-powered blender first, then add the pumpkin puree, almond butter, greek yogurt, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, frozen banana, and protein powder (if using).
  2. Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour your smoothies into glasses and top with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of crushed nuts.
