Strawberry Nail Art is the Sweet Trend You Need to Try Before the Season’s Over

A fun, whimsical take on summer nails is an ode to a classic summer snack–strawberries! Fruit nail art is one of the cutest trends of the season and there’s no better time to try the look than right now. This strawberry nail art design is pretty and playful, and the whole thing can be done with a toothpick and polishes, which means it’s simple, accessible, and easy to customize!

Want to make this strawberry nail art your own? Try mixing it up by using a contrasting base color underneath the strawberries, adding more or fewer berries, adding in flowers or other fruit, or simply playing around with the design to find your favorite combinations! Here’s how to get the look:

How to do Strawberry Nails for Beginners Step by Step

Supplies:

  • Bright red nail polish
  • Grassy green nail polish
  • White nail polish
  • Top coat
  • Small pointed-tip tool (toothpick, brush, dotting tool, the bottom of a bobby pin, etc.)

Instructions:

1. Start with your red nail polish and painting tool of choice (you can use a toothpick, nail art brush, dotting tool–anything with a smaller tip for more precision). Draw upside-down triangles on the nail, but slightly rounding out the three points. Draw as many or as few as you want, depending on your nail shape and size. You can always clean up the shape with a small brush dipped in acetone!
2. Using your green polish, on the top edge of your strawberry draw a little line across, stopping at the corners of the red portion.
3. Using your green polish again, draw three short lines coming from the center of your first line–this is your green leafy strawberry top! There will be a short line on the left, right, and one coming up through the middle.
4. With your white polish, place tiny white dots on top of the red portion of the strawberry (these are the seeds). Place more dots at the top and less at the bottom.
5. Once dry, top with a top coat!
