Getting married in a 1400s Welsh castle meant our wedding was destined to be an elegant affair. Taken apart brick-by-brick and rebuilt outside Seattle in the early 1900s, this unique, magical venue is straight out of a fairy tale. Because we wanted the castle to be a focal point, we chose every detail of the day carefully, from the wedding color palette right down to the bridesmaid nails. Because when you’re a nail artist, manicures make it straight to the top of the wedding priorities list.

We kept our wedding colors minimal and sophisticated, choosing cream, black, and touches of gold. My bridesmaids were to wear black mix-and-match cocktail dresses from Lulus, the obvious choice for dresses–who does sleek cocktail attire better?

As a nail artist I, of course, wanted my bridal party to have custom bridesmaid nails/designs for the big day. I decided to stick with the eclectic mix-and-match theme for each of their looks. Complementing delicate gold Lulus rings, the girls each had minimal gold nail art, from chevron designs on a nude nail to a simple glitter fade.

The combination of clear polish with gold accents worked beautifully, making a strong impact without overshadowing the chic black dresses and bridal bouquets. The end result was simple but stylish: the perfect bridesmaid nail art for our wedding vibe.

To say this day was a memorable experience from start to finish is absolutely putting it mildly. When it comes to the bridesmaid looks, well, I guess you can say we nailed it.
