These s’mores Rice Krispie treats are extra chocolatey, thanks to chocolate Rice Krispies cereal and the additional chocolate chips. We’ve also got plenty of mini marshmallows, graham cracker pieces, and Hershey’s chocolate bar pieces to round out the quintessential s’mores experience.

S’mores Rice Krispie Treats:

To make your s’mores Rice Krispies mix, simply melt butter and marshmallows in a large pot on the stovetop, then stir in your chocolate cereal and chocolate chips. Add this to a greased 9×9 pan, and top with mallows, graham cracker pieces, and chocolate bar pieces. Be sure to do this right away, pressing the toppings in, so they stick to the Rice Krispie treats.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (1 and ½ sticks) butter
  • 4 and ½ cups mini marshmallows, plus a few handfuls more (you’ll need one 16 ounce bag in total)
  • 4 and ½ cups chocolate krispie cereal
  • ⅓ cup chocolate chips (can use milk, semi-sweet, or dark)
  • 2 graham crackers, plus 1 more, broken crushed into small pieces & crumb
  • 2, 4.4 ounce Hershey’s bars (or similar chocolate bar)

Directions

Prep:

Spray a 9×9 pan with nonstick spray and line with parchment paper. Measure your ingredients ahead of time.

Make the Rice Krispie treats:

  1. Melt the butter in a large nonstick pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the marshmallows, and stir until completely melted and combined with the butter.
  3. Add the cereal, chocolate chips, and 2 crushed graham crackers. Mix until everything is combined and press into the prepared pan.
  4. Top with the final broken up graham cracker, a few handfuls of mini marshmallows, and the Hershey’s bar pieces.
  5. Let the treats set up for a few hours at room temp before slicing and serving.
  6. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temp for a few days.
