margarita popsicles

There’s nothing better than an ice-cold blended drink in the summer–unless, perhaps, we turn that blended drink into a popsicle! Introducing Mango Margarita Popsicles: These boozy pops will be your new summertime obsession and they’re super easy to make.

For these, we’re blending together tequila, triple sec, frozen mango, limeade, and agave into the most delicious popsicles you ever did taste. And, in case you think popsicles aren’t super exciting, just try these and allow your mind to be blown. They are ultra flavorful, and you can’t beat a no-bake treat during the hot summer months. Plus, the mangoes add a gorgeous natural color to these popsicles, and they’re naturally sweet. You can add a bit of agave, however, if desired: Just taste your blended mix and adjust it to suit your taste.

And, if you’ve ever had a hard time getting popsicles out of those fancy molds before, first let me say: I’ve been right there with you. Second, try silicone molds or use paper or plastic cups instead. If you have something that has a little give to it, it’ll allow you to squeeze the mold and help the popsicle pop right out. (A quick bath under warm water helps too!)

You can double or halve this recipe, but don’t be afraid to make the whole batch, though. Your future self will thank you for stocking the freezer with these refreshing treats! You’ll be the star of the show when you serve these up at your next backyard picnic or share them with friends at your next pool day. Scroll on for the recipe–and Happy Summer!

Margarita Popsicles

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Yield: 12 popsicles

Ingredients:

  • 4 to 6 ounces of tequila
  • 2 ounces triple sec
  • 4 cups frozen mango chunks
  • 1 and ¼ cups limeade
  • ¼ cup agave
  • Small plastic Dixie cups
  • 12 lime slices, optional
  • Wooden popsicle sticks

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender, and blend until completely smooth.
  2. Divide mixture between the twelve cups.
  3. Cut a slit in each lime slice and push the popsicle stick through. Stick these in the cups, letting the lime sit on the top of the popsicle mixture, then freeze until solid.
  4. Run the cups under warm water for a few seconds to pop the popsicles out of the cups. Store in the freezer for 1-2 months.
