Need a fun cocktail for your next babes brunch, bridal shower, or pool day? Look no further because this Matcha Gin Fizz is perfect for a refresher and caffeinated boost all in one! It’s also absolutely beautiful, so be sure to get your camera ready.
Matcha is a Japanese powder made from dried green tea leaves. It’s rich in antioxidants and provides more sustained, calming energy than coffee. It’s neon green, slightly bitter, earthy, and absolutely delicious!
Gin is the perfect pairing with matcha because it, too, is on the earthy side. It’s defined by botanicals like juniper, lemon, and cardamom, and also mixes wonderfully with the acidity from the lemon and sweetness of the maple syrup. Even a non-matcha lover would enjoy this combo! Think of it like a crisp, fancy lemonade that’s also low in calories. In other words: it’s a summer must.

If you’re sensitive to caffeine, note that there’s very little matcha powder in this cocktail (about ¼ amount of a normal matcha latté), but feel free to use even less. You can also easily turn it into a mocktail by swapping the gin for club soda, and a flavored seltzer like lemon or lime would be delicious, as well.
All you need to make this drink is five ingredients, a cocktail shaker, and a shot glass. If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, any enclosed bottle, or even a handheld frother, will work. The key is to not only mix the ingredients well but also ensure the matcha powder isn’t clumping. For reference, a shot glass is typically 1.5 ounces, and if you don’t have a shot glass, you can also measure three tablespoons of liquid.
