You can just make a few of these for yourself for a snack (the ingredients keep well in the fridge for a few weeks), or you can make a large amount all at once for a beach day or summer celebration. I do, however, recommend getting one of each type of melon–it’s so fun to try all the different combinations of watermelon, honeydew, and cantaloupe with the fresh mozzarella and basil.

If you have a favorite, light summery dressing that would pair well with this recipe, you can drizzle it over these before serving, or you can go the super simple (yet delicious) route that I did and just give them a light sprinkle of salt and pepper. Trust me–it’s so good! Just scroll on to see how to make this easy summer snack. Enjoy!

Directions
Ball your melons:
Use a melon baller to ball your melons! This recipe is so flexible, so ball as much or as little melon as you want, depending on how many skewers you want to make. On each of my skewers, I used two melon balls and one mozzarella ball. So, decide how many skewers you want total, and use that to determine how many melon and mozzarella balls you’ll need!
Assemble your skewers:
- Once your melons have been balled, add the items to your skewer in this order: melon ball (any flavor), mozzarella ball, fresh basil leaf, melon ball (any flavor). Sprinkle with a little salt and pepper, and enjoy!
- Keep leftovers in the fridge for 1-2 days, but these are best on the first day. Melons can be balled ahead of time and kept in the fridge for a few days before assembling the skewers.
