citrus margarita on the rocks

Having just returned home from my Bachelorette party in Tulum, you can imagine that my brain is still heavy on the chips-guac-margatitas-repeat cycle. Some of my favorite drinks I sipped on those white sand beaches of Mexico were laced with beautiful hints of citrus and passion fruit, so for National Margarita Day I figured I’d add a little ‘vacay mode’ to the classic margarita.

Turns out, citrus is abundant in the winter time, And it’s great for staving off colds–so essentially you can just go ahead and swap this margarita for your green smoothie. (Probably, right?) The act of peeling and inhaling oranges is also known to lift moods, calm your nerves, and bring about a sense of ease and happiness, so paired with tequila this beverage suddenly becomes liquid sunshine.
