When it comes to bridal style, it’s all in the details–and no detail was missed at our launch event for the Lulus bridal boutique on Melrose. Over the weekend of February 9th, we invited some of our favorite influencers and Southern California-area brides to come celebrate love and Lulus with us. There was cake, manis, hair bows, bevvies, and hundreds of brides from all over SoCal, 100 of whom each won a free Lulus wedding dress for their big day!
Whether you made it in person, there’s plenty to take away from the stunning event to inspire your own wedding mood board. From desserts to decor, here’s how we created a dreamy, unforgettable experience.
Paper Flower Decor
Floral Lab created stunning blushy pink floral art installations for the occasion. This local LA mother/daughter design duo are known for their jaw-dropping oversized paper floral blooms, designed for everything from birthday parties to bridal showers to weddings. If you’re after something dramatic and unexpected, add these to your wedding mood board ASAP.
Floral Cakes
Another unexpected way to incorporate flowers into your big day? Dessert. The women-led team at Flouring Cake Shop, founded by Los Angeles native Heather Wong, created gorgeous, Insta-worthy cakes and mini cakes, meringues, and cookies with bright floral and gold leaf accents. Known for her nostalgic, botanical, minimalist-designed cakes, Wong infuses Chinese and Mexican heritage into her flavors, using locally sourced ingredients. The result: culinary works of art–the kind you’ll want to consider for your wedding cake.
Bridal Bows
By now, you know bows are trending–like, majorly trending, as in, they are everywhere. So of course, the experts from Page Beauty, a company of Los Angeles hair and makeup artists who specialize in modern, elevated and seemingly effortless looks, set up a bow bar at our bridal boutique. Brides and influencer babes were treated to bow hairstyles that ranged from everyday looks to standout stacked bow styles. The takeaway? If you’re going to incorporate one detail into your wedding, whether it’s tied around tapered candles, a balloon arch, or adorning your bridal ‘do, go with bows.
Organic Wine
Helen’s Wines poured wine, fizzy spritzes, and non-alcoholic options for our brides. Focused on naturally driven and organically farmed labels, small production vineyards, wine makers with integrity, lower intervention elevage, and dynamic thoughtful wines, Helen’s shop curates their selection to embody the mantra of “nothing added, nothing taken away.” If you’re looking to add an ethical, thoughtful component to your wedding, consider this your bar inspo.
Simple Wedding Nails
The nail artists at Olive & June were, ahem, on hand at our bridal boutique launch to offer polish, press-ons, and nail stickers to our guests. Olive & June’s at-home nail systems and products mean it’s easy to DIY your mani, including your wedding mani if you choose! As the brand’s bio goes, “we believe no matter who you are, where you live, what you do, or what you wear, you deserve to have nails that make you feel like your best self.” To elevate your nails for your bridal shower, bachelorette, wedding, and beyond, or to test out a look for the big day, try a simple DIY hack like at-home press-ons or nail stickers.
