Minimal nail art on clean, clear nails has become super popular, and with good reason. The simple look is elegant, sleek, and modern: On clear nails, designs like thin gold stripes make a major impact. Plus, this trend is easily achieved at home, meaning you don’t have to be the Picasso of nail art to score a sophisticated, professional-looking style.
Try a minimalist clear manicure for date-night or a special event using nail art tape, which can easily be purchased from craft or beauty stores online. For the linear gold nail designs seen here, all you’ll need is a clear coat (I chose OPI Shine Top Coat) and striping decoration tape (I used this one).
Just follow these three steps and your clear nail designs will be ready in minutes. (See? I told you it was easy.)
- Prep each nail and use a clear or very sheer base as your first coat of polish.
- Allow to dry for 15 minutes and place a small piece of gold nail art tape on each nail as shown.
- Press down securely, then seal with 2 coats of clear top coat.
