If you’ve been invited to a semi-casual or casual wedding, you’re in luck: you’re allowed to get creative! When you don’t have to stick to formalwear, you can play around a little more with your look, and do something that feels more whimsical.

This half-up boho bun is loose, romantic, and playful, and it’s perfect if you’re a wedding guest. Luckily, this hairstyle is also super easy, and it looks good on a variety of hair textures and lengths!
Half-Up Bun
Step 1: Create an even middle part.
Step 2: Curl your hair using a 1-inch curling iron, leaving the ends out to create a loose, beachy, slightly messy curl.
Step 3: Gather the top third of your hair and section out face-framing pieces.
Step 4: Using the top third of your hair, create a simple 3-strand braid, leaving a few inches unbraided. Secure with a clear elastic.
Step 5: Using your fingers, find a gap in the top of the braid, and flip the end of the braid up and through, creating a looped bun.
Step 6: Secure the bun using crisscrossing bobby pins under the bun. Pull gently on the strands of the braid to add fullness.
Step 7: Remove the elastic and brush through your ends with your fingers to remove the excess braid not included in the bun.
Step 8: Have fun with your face framers! Loop some through each other to create a twisted look around the face.
