This look was actually inspired by Amanda Seyfried’s glam goddess waves from the 2018 Met Gala, a headband hairstyle that we haven’t been able to get out of our minds since. The flowy twists! The gilded headband! The romance! It’s all so holiday-party-hair perfect.
This style also happens to be blissfully uncomplicated (a holiday miracle!): In addition to being one of the most important trends of the season, accessories like clips, pins, and headbands are the ultimate party hair hack. Just brush out your curls, add a shimmery finishing touch–in this case, a gold, tiara-like topper–and voila! You’re ready to get on with the festivities (minus the freakouts!).

Holiday Waves Headband Hairstyle:
- Spray the hair with medium hold hairspray, brush through, and section to curl.
- Curl the hair in small sections, twisting before wrapping around the iron.
- Create a middle part and brush out curls with fingers, smoothing with hairspray as you go (a dry oil hairspray is preferable for this part).
- Add a party-ready headband!
