Pearls are about as classic as it gets, especially when it comes to jewelry and accessories, but this spring, they are getting a modern makeover. The freshest way to wear these timeless baubles? Scattered on your hair, with a floating effect. Yes, I said on. Hair pearls adhered to your strands are unexpected, elegant, and totally dreamy, not to mention the perfect romantic addition to bridal hair, prom hair, or any special occasion style.

Consider this the ultimate hair hack for a big event. Even if you’re a styling novice, applying hair pearls with lash or hair glue (you can also buy stick-on pearls!) requires minimal effort but offers maximum impact. Just scattering a few faux gemstones in your ‘do instantly elevates even the simplest dress. If you’re getting ready to walk down the aisle, take the look for a test-run at your bridal shower, bachelorette, or engagement party. There will be no mistaking who the bride is!

Pinterest predicts “pearlcore” is going to be one of the year’s biggest trends and I can’t think of a better way to reimagine the classic than rocking pearl-adorned hair. So scroll on ahead, and see just how easy it is to get the look.

How to Wear Hair Pearls:

Instructions:

  1. Part your hair to the side.
  2. Spray the roots with a texture spray or texture powder (dry shampoo also works) and tease.
  3. Spray the hair with medium-hold hair spray. Using a 1-inch iron, curl the hair away from the face, all the way to the ends.
  4. Spray with conditioning spray and brush through to lay down flyaways.
  5. Tuck the hair behind the ear on the side with less hair.
  6. Using clear lash glue, add acrylic pearls to the hair in whatever pattern and amount you like!
