Lulus: Tell us a little about yourself and what you do!
Yuyan: I’m a content creator based in New York City! I love showing my outfits and vlogs of my life.
Lulus: How would you describe your style?
Yuyan: I love looks that are effortlessly chic! Outfits that can be pulled together with great closet staples are my absolutely favorite!
Lulus: How did you become a digital creator? Were you always into fashion?
Yuyan: Yes! I always loved dressing up and trying different styles. I made a summer outfits video on YouTube of me changing into different looks and that just took off! That was actually my first viral video, and I still try to create one of those videos every season!
Lulus: Love that. What made you want to partner with Lulus?
Yuyan: I’ve been wearing Lulus for years now! You were actually one of the first brands I’ve partnered with as a creator, and it feels like such a full circle moment.
Lulus: Do you have a favorite look from your collection?
Yuyan: I love all the cozy sweaters and beautiful dresses! My favorite has to be the Autumn Aura Brown Ribbed Two Piece Sweater Dress. Such a great fall piece!
Lulus: That one is so good! Speaking of fall pieces, do you have a go-to fall outfit formula?
Yuyan: Yes! My go to outfit for fall is bootcut jeans, trench coat, tee and boots. It never fails me and always looks like put together.
Lulus: What are the fall outfit essentials everyone should have in their wardrobe this year?
Yuyan: Definitely a trench coat, a good pair of jeans, a cozy sweater, boots that are comfy and chic, and a white tee to layer with!
Lulus: Yes to all of that! Any tips for transitioning to fall fashion while it’s still warm out?
Yuyan: Start with light layers like a sweater draped over the shoulder! It’s not too hot to wear but the layer adds more dimension and makes your outfit look a bit cozier.
Lulus: That’s a great styling tip. You have a very defined aesthetic–what advice do you have for honing your personal signature style?
Yuyan: I love Pinterest for finding outfit inspiration. Pin a few outfits you love and ask yourself why you love it: Is it the pieces styled together? Is it the fabrics and silhouette? Try out different styles that you love–sometimes you never know exactly what you love unless you try out different pieces! Go to a store and have fun with clothes without committing and find out what you think suits your lifestyle.
Lulus: Great advice! Is there a trend you can’t wait to wear this fall?
Yuyan: Suede everything!
Lulus: Trend you’ll be skipping?
Yuyan: Actually, I’m really loving all the fall trends right now!
Lulus: What’s next for you? Anything you’re looking forward to and excited about?
Yuyan: My wedding next year! I just started planning it and the wedding dress shopping has been so fun!
