Spring is in the air, which means it’s time to start breaking out your warm-weather wardrobe! One of our all-time favorite spring staples is an LWD–a little white dress! White is the perfect color to wear to a spring event, whether you’re looking for a formal option for prom, or something more casual for everyday wear. White dresses are fun, flirty, and light, and won’t make you overheat in warm weather.
How To Wear White
White isn’t just for weddings, and there are no hard-and-fast rules for who can wear this color. White looks beautiful on every skin tone, every body shape, and for almost any occasion. There’s also a big range of white shades, from bright white to off-white, or patterned white dresses that feature pops of color.
Because white is a neutral shade, it can be paired with virtually any color and works as a beautiful contrast to brights, metallics, and jewel tones. This makes white dresses super easy to style and make your own. Whatever your personal aesthetic might be, there’s a way to accessorize a white dress to match it.
If you like the carefree boho look, choose a flowy or ruffled white dress and pair it with strappy sandals and a straw bag. An open button-up shirt, a light sweater, or a short-sleeve shirt all look fabulous over a casual white dress and can help you stay warm in early spring when the weather isn’t quite as warm.
Remember, white can be paired with almost any color, so the only limit to layering is your wardrobe! You can also combine layering with a monochromatic look by choosing a white sweater, jacket, or shirt to wear with your dress.
